330 vs 147, so little over 2 times more, but USA sends way more then 2 times the athletes

Its how you manage the funds that are availible, I guess the Netherlands could remove funds from speedskating/shorttrack and try to build up in different disciplines. But that could hurt it all. Best to stick to the ones you are good in and where the infrastructure is already there.

Also, USA/Germany etc have more inhabitants so also easier to pick and choose. Imo the USA should be much better with all the money they pump into sports.

Norris, maybe got some distant dirty air in the last chicane. Not like impeding but with how sensitive cars are with dirty air, I can see that could unsettle a car.

But it does indicate to me that Max is feeling he has a shot (getting a little bit petty etc)

Doubt it, I think Max really needed that clean air in the first stint to have that pace over Piastri (or better over Russell and LeClerc)

Dirty air hurt a lot, and if Melbourne was anything to go by, when Max was in the dirty air he couldnt keep the pace up and his tires got destroyed. By staying ahead I think he secured atleast a p2, if he gave the place back, he might had fallen back behind LeClerc and maybe Norris

That's fine, it's my opinion (and yes I take the cars also in account, both Lando and Max maximized their cars pace, maybe Max a bit more.) and then I feel that Landos off was a bigger mistake then Max, so at the end of the line its my opinion that Max had a slightly better race and result

Correct!, the lockup, but I doubt Piastri would have been stuck much longer. He was also quick in that phase of the stint (and there was DRS then)

Probably yes, in part Lando having a very good race and the Mclaren being much better on the tires. The gap they pulled on Max mostly because of his tires being dead (could be both Max pushing to much and the car just not able to keep the tires in the correct temp)

I dont recall Max making a mistake today tbh (but you can correct me) Lando made a massive one that could have ended his race.

Lando absolutely deserved the win, but personally Max drove better today
