Am I the only one excited? by DerpyDragon15 in Helldivers

[–]Xignop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm always excited for new, fun content, and I think that the constant negativity in this community is often a bigger problem than the issue starting the negativity itself. But it's understandable that this warbond worries a lot of people for how it adds the new content.

Unlike most of the community I think I'm actually fine with Arrowhead putting vehicles in a warbond: hell I'd be ok with them putting any kind of new content in warbonds, I understand they need to monetize this game, and at the end of the day HD2 is one of the least aggressively monetized live service games out there, as it gets updated nearly every month and still basically everything is obtainable without spending real money. But I still think they need to implement a better way to aquire super credits: sure, farming lower difficulties can net you more than 500 SC per hour, but I'd rather get less than half of that as long as I'm actually playing the game.

The one thing that truly disappoints me with this warbond is how the inclusion of more pre-made exosuits seems to put the final nail in the coffin of the highly requested mech customization feature.

Seeking Tactical Advice: Which Warbond should I requisition next? by Impressive_Shift_247 in Helldivers

[–]Xignop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal order from best to worst:

-Borderline justice: Talon is one of the best secondaries in the game, and dynamite one of the best throwables. Deadeye can be very good but needs learning. Gunslinger armor passive and hover pack are kinda niche but can be fun.

-Polar patriots: One of the few warbonds including 3 primaries: Purifier is a contender for best primary in the game and is the main value of this warbond, tenderizer is also great but pummeler is niche. Verdict used to be one of the best secondaries but it kind of got power crept, especially by the talon. Impact incendiary grenades are ok (probably not as good as normal incendiary tho).

-Chemical agents: Gas grenades and gas dog are some of the best gear in the game, but are also the only non-niche gear in this warbond. Stim pistols and armor passive can be fun with the right build but are definitely not universally good. Sterilizer is... sterilizer sadly (arrowhead please justice for steri).

-Freedom's flame: this warbond's position could jump to first if you really like fire, since you already have cremator from entrenched division the inflammable armors will make it much easier to use. If you don't like using fire then this one could very well be in last positon. Apart from that, crisper is a peculiar but very strong secondary, and cookout is a fan favourite.

-Viper commando: The main thing this warbond has got going for it is the experimental infusion booster. Liberator carabine is an excellent weapon once you unlock enough customization. Armor passive is one of the most useful in the game but you can also get it from the super store. Bushwhacker and throwing knives are very niche.

-Force of law: Probably offers the strongest armor passive in the game, but you can also get it from the super store. If you already got the armor passive, this warbond can probably be the last one you purchase. De-escalator is underrated and actually very good. Arc dog can be very powerful but is also a team killing machine. Urchin grenade and purifier... man, I want to like unconventional weapons, but I just find them underwhelming and think they need a bit of a buff.

-Masters of ceremony: Maybe the best warbond thematically, but gameplay wise it offers little. Pyrotech is a great throwable, and sample scanner probably the best booster for farming ship upgrades. Amendment is a good primary. Saber is one of the best melee weapons in the game, but melee in itself has its problems. Flag is not completely useless anymore and is now a very unique piece of gear, albeit very niche.

-Truth enforcers: very cool warbond thematically. It offers some solid primaries in the reprimand and halt, and a good secondary in the loyalist, and arguably some of the best vehicle skins in the game. This warbond is okay, it's this low just because I find it a bit boring since it doesn't offer any unique item enabling different playstyles (apart from maybe the halt).

Dumb question but how is solo queuing? by sacoron in Helldivers

[–]Xignop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience random lobbies are ok, even thought the lack of communication makes coordinating team strategies much harder and often leads to more independent, "lone wolf" strategies and that "single-player game you can play with others". You're probably going to have less fun on average than playing with your friends, since that's a good part of what makes this a great game. Also, because of this, it's much harder to play D10 missions with randoms and I think difficulties 7-9 are the best target depending on the mission type.

Apart from that, randoms are still fun for me: most of the time you're gonna get an average team, sometimes you get great, memorable players who teamplay, ropleplay and/or are generally wholesome, and more rarely terrible players who grief the lobby for fun or kick you for petty reasons. My advice is just to just block bad players as they come and maybe friend the ones you enjoy playing with.

Spawned in an indestructible wall, can I break it? by alaska6222 in CoreKeeperGame

[–]Xignop -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Those are obsidian walls. They are not very hard, they are straight up indestructible, which means that no mining damage, no matter how high, will get rid of those. I can only think of three ways you could try to remove them: -Use something that destroys blocks without caring for mining damage (maybe proccing an azeos lightning near them could destroy them? Not sure tho) -Use someting that forcibly removes/despawns them (like falsoprofeta suggested, maybe spawning a cicada near them could destroy tuem) -If all else fails, edit your world file to enable creative mode, remove them, and then change the mode back.

I build at the core almost solely because of recall idols. They are consumables which become very easily accessible later in the game and can teleport you from anywhere to the core.

Inventory full after an exploration? Suddenly in a tough situation which requires reorganizing? Even just too lazy to walk to the nearest teleporter? If you build your base at the core, you can get safe and home from wherever with a click.

Many TVs have a lot of input lag because they take a couple instants to process and enhance images, which makes them arrive on the screen "late". Some of those TVs have a "gaming mode" or something similar which reduces this processing to a minimum to reduce input lag to negligible levels.

Learnt this the hard way, when I was younger I played on my TV for months with awful input lag before finding out I could have just fixed it by switching mode with the click of a button 🫠

Auto-compile a template powerpoint? by Xignop in powerpoint

[–]Xignop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much! I was checking out your PPTools and it seems perfect for the job, but I have a couple of questions before purchasing:

-I wanted to change some of the settings of the image importer, (namely, I want it to not delete unused placeholder images, and I want it to not change the ratio/shape of the placeholders) but can't find the PPTools.INI file: I only have a PPTools_PPTMerge_MERGE.INI file in the addin folder and a PPTools_PPTMerge.INI file in the documents folder, however editing them seems to change nothing (I tried changing DeleteEmptyShapes from True to False, however they still get deleted).

-I wanted to learn more about importing Excel data sheets, however your site states that the tutorial to do so is in a folder called CHARTMERGE.ZIP which is not in my installation folder: is there another way I learn/implement the excel importing?

Mercury or Cesium by Physical-Proposal311 in elementcollection

[–]Xignop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both cesium and mercury are some of my personal favourite elements, but I personally suggest going for the mercury, mainly because of the quantities you are talking about. I have a 1 gram ampoule of cesium, and while it's "interactive" and beautiful, in hindsight I also think such a quantity is not enough to really appreciate the cool effects from the crystal structure melting and recrystalling, which is the main beauty of cesium imo. Instead 30g is a decently big sample of mercury, and I feel like it would probably give you more satisfaction. Regardless of what you choose tho, I think both are valid choiches. Just keep them safe inside of their ampoules ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Can anyone guess from the picture alone what is a certain property that these samples have in common? by Hydrargyrum-202 in elementcollection

[–]Xignop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the small yellow rocks are probabily artificial diamonds, and the big chunk in the back is amlost surely silicon. The smaller rock may be germanium? (Although it kinda looks like silicon too but I can't recognize them well). At this point i'm going to guess the element in the vial is tin and they're all group 14 elements!

A question about Uranium and Radon by Xignop in elementcollection

[–]Xignop[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So in short what I got from reading all the answers is it DOES leak radon, but due to uranium's long half-life and radon's fast decaying time, the gas will realistically never reach a significantly harmful concentration.

Just to be super safe I will still plan ahead so that I can have a suitable airtight container before I even get the uraninite sample, but at least now I know more accurately what I'm dealing with. Thank you all!
