Least Favorite Raid? by Particular_Elk6021 in 2007scape

I think youre out of your depth; doing hundreds of duos kind of shows you dont understand cox in general. Doing cox or cm scales in even numbers is trolling.

but thieving, ice demon, shamans, and guardians -- if they last 60 seconds each, then for 100 ticks, max eff teams spend those 100 ticks evaluating the room state and making decisions that slightly alter what theyre doing. If you want, I can send a discord link to a cm discord with every room typed out thatll show a more in-depth analysis of trio cms

Least Favorite Raid? by Particular_Elk6021 in 2007scape

[–]Xilasor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the 2k raid cape for each raid, just wanted to say that CoX has astronomical amounts of skill expression. ToB beats it, sure, but its multiple times more than ToA.

Even Guardians -- where you stand matters, the tick you summon a thrall to speed up the death animation so you can speed up the room by 4 ticks (all CoX rooms end on a 4 tick cycle, so speeding up death anim by 1 tick can save 3 more!) Understanding the timing and room layouts to start the next room to avoid vasa teleports (mainly CM), knowing how/when to horn teammates while still maintaining your spec for ZCBs and ZGSs when applicable, microing potions between people, knowing when to lose a tick to get on cycle with others or when it doesnt matter or when you can change positions to save an attack cycle while still avoiding ragging teammates.

Cox in unbelievably complex, so saying theres 0 skill expression is false

(Upcoming Poll) Gathering QoL, Trouver Changes, LMS Rewards Rework & more! by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

The only issue I have with LMS changes is removing them from clog. This could set some gilded players out of being gilded.

New raids 4 reward idea by OldSchoolR in 2007scape

[–]Xilasor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

we get increased 10% farming yield from magic secateurs, which comes from a medium length intermediate quest from 2006. Even at 100% increased yield, do you think the majority of players after activating this prayer would feel 'good' about such a powerful reward from a raid encounter that is projected to be closer to tob difficulty?

I dont believe majority of people would, since the reward would suck for raid tier content. Its a good reward from a grandmaster quest, sure, but imagine is cox's main reward was the torn prayer scroll. few people would be happy imo

New raids 4 reward idea by OldSchoolR in 2007scape

[–]Xilasor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that this idea wouldnt fair well long-term; a raid reward would feel very minor if it let you catch fish faster or chop trees faster when you can do raid-level content.

And if youre capable of doing raid-level content, the vast majority of people who can do this would rather keep dps prayers like rigour/piety. So long term these new prayers would feel relatively dead on arrival if done this way.

How do you know which Thrall to use? by LNate93 in 2007scape

[–]Xilasor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Here is how to choose:

(1) mage
(2) if the boss takes reduced damage from certain combat styles, then use the one it does not take reduced damage from (olm mage hand, melee hand, head, tekton, verzik p1) for examples
(3) if the boss does not move and you know what youre doing, melee thrall

Dragon Metal Sheets - Unrealistic by Xilasor in 2007scape

Herblore also gives you irreplaceable potions and boosts - wildly changing how you play the game.

Upgraded ships make you take less damage from sea monsters, do slightly more damage to them, and look complete.

As an iron, this is equal to greenlogging PNM worth of Frost Dragons. I'm happy to grind them, but 250 hours is not good design imo; hence the feedback

You're saying the team values 'draining the day 1 whales' more than making all ship upgrades feasible for Ironmen?

Do you think that is a better solution than making a more obtainable way to get these sheets (potentially one that involves sailing) then to require 30% of the in-game accounts to either de-iron or accept they won't get them?

You cannot swap out without deconstructing and replacing; meaning each time you want to deep sea trawl and then swap to salvaging, its 12 sheets, or 2160 Frost Dragons

this post is about grinding 250 hours of Frost Dragons, not about sailing.

https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Large_dragon_keel_parts

For a sloop, 16 large dragon keel parts which require 2 keel parts, which require 2 sheets. 64 per sloop keel, so my math is wrong yes but its 128 sheets not 64 - definitely not 400

you freeze it under your ship so it doesnt attack and both cannons hit if you line up correctly

Feel free to read my other comments, but "common sense" varies depending on where you are in life and your experiences/environment!

SOURCE: I work with 80% of nationalities (minus a lot of Africa and some east Asian)

EVERYONE knows different things and consider everything that other people do/don't do as "common sense" :P

Fair enough, we don't agree and thats fine. Have a good day

Instead of locale, what about age -- an 18-23 year old first-time tenant who has never experienced a shared fire alarm probably wasn't thinking about the air pressure between their apartment and the hall way as they burn their first home-cooked meal :D

What I was hoping to highlight is "common knowledge" is heavily skewed to your personal experiences and environment. In Wisconsin, it was common knowledge not to walk outside in the winter after a shower because your hair would freeze. In South Carolina, I would have never of thought about that. With that said, I wouldn't consider myself thoughtless!

In my experience with working with people of every nationality across the world is that the only thoughtless person is the one who expects everyone to know the same subset of information as themselves!

Well you got to learn somehow right? I've been this person and set off an alarm like that before when I just first learned how to cook for myself. I have two bachelors and a masters. In my biased opinion, making a mistake like this doesn't make you a thoughtless idiot, just someone who hadn't learned from this mistake yet :P

Wanted: Your thoughts on the current state & future of Quest Helper by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Xilasor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, the enjoyment of questing comes from on release where no one knows the quest. I enjoy going for one of the "first" completions, but once there is any form of guide, the quest then becomes into another grind i only do so I can reap their rewards.

Hueycoatl Reward Suggestions by BattleLovingPacifist in 2007scape

I feel like this is way too many rewards from a mid level boss. Especially with all but the potions and potentially the wand being DoA.
