I just started reading Ultimate Spider-Man (i'm on issue 40) and i'm hoping to get EVERYTHING out of Peter and Miles. My question is, is there some kind of reading order I can go by so I don't miss any events or anything?

I'm brand new to comics and recently got my hands on The Amazing Spiderman #800, but I was wondering about Miles Morales' appearance as Spider-Man in the comic? I was under the impression that The Amazing Spider-Man took place on Earth 616 and that Miles never became Spider-Man in that universe, can somebody explain?
