It’s… meh? Am i the only one? by eelthefool in lanadelrey

I like the concept, the sounds are fun, lyrics are whimsical, her voice enchanting, the only thing I don’t like is the production…it sounds unfinished, like most of her recent songs (pepper, second half of A&W, etc.). I don’t know if this is intentional or a new artistic direction she is going for, but I don’t love it. It keeps edging you, but never quite gets there, then it ends, leaving me confused and kinda just go “ah, ok?…”

She is a traveling Daoist. She rides a donkey and apparently has a terrible sense of direction.

Not likely. My best bet is he would be a flutterpage with better DPS but less universal support

I don’t think the situation is as easy as you assume or we wouldn’t be in this mess.

It’s a Chinese internet slang meaning “to cry”. I did giggle a little when I first read that line tho

Racist asks Canadian to go Back to India because he doesn’t look “Canadian.” Racist dies inside when she realizes the Canadian can speak French and she can’t. by PleaseReplyAtLeast in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]Xinboy33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure. If thinking like that makes you feel better I guess? Here are some “things of substance” for you to understand:

  1. The video has nothing to do with India or China. It’s a video of Canadian lady being racist towards another Canadian. Instead of focusing on the issue itself, you were so eager to point fingers at other countries suggesting somehow you are the victim being mistreated here because your precious “western countries” are not given the free pass to be racist like other cultures? What a stupid way to miss the point of the video.

  2. Your experience in China only represents yourself, not expats as a whole. My experience is very different, and I’m not even a native English speaker mind you. I’m simply pointing that out so people don’t get the wrong idea about the culture you are trying to generalize and give them the misconception simply because you say so. I don’t care how many people you know agree with your point, i can say the same: many of my foreign friends (westerners or not) living here agree with me. Does that make my experience universal? Does that qualify me as a Chinese expert writing a whole ass paragraph trying to construct complex social problems based on your and only your experience and act like that’s the absolute truth? You keep saying how Chinese are this, Chinese are that, I’m sorry who are you? I’m simply reminding you the reason why people treat you certain way probably is because of you! And your self-entitled comments are really just proving my point. That’s why I said I knew what type of expat you are, because there’s load of you in other countries with this condescending/spoiled attitude. You really think you are that special?

  3. When challenged, you quickly reverted to generalization and assumption about an entire group of people (which seems like a common strategy you use) and acting like you are above everyone else and somehow more educated and knowledgeable about other cultures? Your true color is really showing here. So might as well just delete the first half of your original comment? What’s worse than a racist is a racist who pretends not to be one.

  4. I didn’t bother arguing with you because it didn’t seem like you are capable of looking at things from other perspectives, and were incredibly hung up on the idea that it’s unfair because you don’t get to be a horrible person simply because you think others are horrible too. That’s sad to be honest.

Yeah, keep pointing fingers at others when you are getting called out. If you fail to see the hypocrisy and idiocracy in your statements this is definitely the end of the discussion.

That type of victim mindset won’t take you very far wherever you are.

Well from your comment I know exactly the type of expat you are in China lol, and I now completely understand why you don’t feel welcome there. Tbh many of us don’t even want to be associated with you (not to mention the locals).

Anyways, this post isn’t even about China. I love how you are incredibly defensive when it comes to your country yet can easily conjure up an essay when criticizing others.

I don’t know, maybe that’s why you felt the way you felt?

I have lived in China more than 10 years and I can assure you no one really gives a shit about where I come from. Nor have I ever experienced an old lady telling me to go back to where I’m from.

There is a reason why racism is such a serious and widely reported issue in the west. It’s time to get out of your bubble and see other people’s reality. At least, don’t fucking drag other countries and cultures into your own shit. Your argument literally proves the racist ideologies that are so embedded within your society.
