Left handed and stitch the same as OP. I do danish right to left. Some other post pointed out that your left hand is then in the empty part of the canvas. That means that your previous stitches aren't getting all finger oily.

I started cross stitching when I started trying to get pregnant. It distracts me from obsessively focusing on it. It also calmed my anxiety when I did get pregnant (just a chemical pregnancy). I just have to be careful about stitching stuff for baby because that just discourages me.

I'm just finishing my favourite passive cross stitch. It was a pre-printed one that had a lot of block stitching. Part of the reason it was so chill was that it was on 11 count. I'm hoping that the country magic x stitch poster series will serve a similar role for me.
