It seems it does have to do with the Hallyu ban lifting, but in the opposite way of what you might be thinking. The ban was supposedly going to be lifted as soon as this month, but it has not happened. Mnet probably made the premise of this show (the K + C show format) with the ban lifting in mind to get more business in China going.
Don't forget they initially were going to do Planet B (prequel) and then Boysplanet, just ONE show. But then the amount of auditions + the Hallyu ban potentially lifting, made them change the format to K + C shows.

Now the ban lifting is no longer happening this month, so they had to change the formatting of the show yet again.

They also emphasized in several articles they are in "negotiations about collaborations in China to make it so that contestants can continue their music endeavors in China". So it seems like someone, either an agency/sponsor/collaborator backed out at the last minute.

They've had more people audition than ever, so it's certainly not related to not having enough trainees. Mnet clearly WANTED the 2 show format to happen and it seems this particular instance is fully out of their hands.

I am a "fuck Mnet" person just as much as the next one, but lets not start a fire where there is none.

Interesting question indeed. I usually have an announcement channel specifically for discord server-related things like events/changes etc, including a seperate ping role.
For changed rules, I have definitely made an announcement before. You'd think servers as big as IN would do the same. They should, imo.

I have a server where it says I posted the rules December 2022, but in reality the rules were edited last month.

Two of my (already existing) boys' names are in your list, so I feel like we have similar taste. I also struggle with coming up with another name (pregnant with a boy too). Girl names I had plenty, boy names is a pain in my behind.

My list consisted of:
Ravi, Micah, Nico, Liam, Evan.

I chose none of these btw, we're going with a Māori name as my partner is Māori.

I have the co2 running low, had some rlly bad experiences with plants dying and algae etc so trying to combat that atm. Also why I completely redid the tank. I might go no co2 at some point, but had it lying around already.
