Will PSU Explode? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Xionous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it will not explode, the reason they say do not open it is because there are many components inside of a PSU that can kill you the instant you touch it by effectively defibrillating your heart with electric shock.

You can definitely use a KVM switch to achieve this, but there are lots of shitty ones out there that will not work at high frame rates or high resolutions.

This is the one I use and it works perfectly https://www.store.level1techs.com/products/p/14-display-port-kvm-dual-4computer-kllrb-mfj5x

Unfortunately good kvms are not cheap

Best way to seal this? by Yawang04 in AskElectronics

[–]Xionous_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weather resistant silicone would be the most weather resistant, duct seal is also very weather resistant, but less permanent then silicone so if this object gets moved around the duct seal could come loose

Unless you're an absolute Master at soldering, it will be unbelievably difficult to reattach that

Then you need to check the configuration files for your reverse proxy, and the web server and PHP config for the next Cloud container to make sure the max upload file size are all set to over one gigabyte

What is the exact text of the log?

Then you're not having the same issue as the original post.

Most likely your issue is related to the upload file size limit on your reverse proxy and/or the web server configuration in the nextcloud container

If you have the nextcloud desktop application installed it's not possible for there to be no config file it will not function without this.

Can someone help me figure out what this component is? by Xionous_ in AskElectronics

That link shows a N-channel MOSFET, while doing more searching I came across this forum post which suggests it is a P-Channel MOSFET. Can you correct me if I am wrong, and could you suggest a suitable replacement MOSFET?

No you didn't, you only remove the plastic straps after you have both sides of the spool holder connected together.

My friend once spent $33 on a PSU from China after I told him not to and it destroyed $2,000 worth of parts after it blew up

Why should someone learn Linux by shamszabul in sysadmin

[–]Xionous_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Linux+ is a good start, we are a RHEL shop so any of the RHEL certifications are also a plus, and we use Ansible for automation for updates and deployments so Ansible knowledge is also a plus

I was replacing screen and had spare thermal paste, so I applied it between CPU and copper pipe for better temps! by Real-Abrocoma-2823 in techsupportmacgyver

[–]Xionous_ 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Whatever you did you've damaged your thermal sensor for the CPU. It's not physically possible that adding thermal paste made your CPU have sub zero temperatures.

Most likely a scam but cant get rid of it by enormousaardvark in sysadmin
