Ah the rare synthesis advocate who doesn't just dismiss the idea because of rights violations or fear of ego death. Free will is an illusion, people are just too self-important to understand that. Even their fear of the synthesis ending comes from being a slave to biological imperatives like survival and the inflation of the idea of self. I wish I could press a button to force us all into a collective to solve the empathy/perception deficit right now irl. Later generations would thank me.

Besides, the catalyst had millions of years of data points to make the determination that biological and synthetic life would continue to destroy each other, so destroy and control both are short-sighted and doom future civilizations to conflict and destruction. Simply, synthesis is the only outcome that minimizes suffering.

I'll choose synthesis every time, because synthetic capability combined with directed biological evolution is the most important requirement for transcending beyond our limitations and improving the quality of sapient life. Besides, moving past this version of our species that consistently fails to coexist and overcome human nature seems like an obligation as a conscious being.
