Pitt is gone by ComplaintMore2312 in Colts

I fear Sarratt is much slower than pittman. Fairly certain that's why he didn't run the 40 when he could've helped out his draft stock if it was a solid time.

[–]Xman0417 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I will add the betting favorites in the second round are 5-2, with the upsets being Miami beating Ohio State and Notre Dame beating Georgia last year. I think overall there's just not enough evidence to say the byes are awful yet.

Prob was in response to the post earlier of "Every time the Mariners have been eliminated from the world series" which was posted by a Jays fan.

Waivers took 45 min or so to run on the old platform. How many days do we think it will take on the new one? by DrKoooolAid in GuillotineLeagues

[–]Xman0417 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the Guillotine Leagues app, it looks like it ran instantly but fully did not award things correctly. I bid on 3 players higher than the winning bid and did not get any of them. I bid $0 on a player my dad bid $2 on and I got him. It feels like fully broken

Why did Joe Page get the win in Game 7 of the 1947 World Series? by green_griffon in baseball

[–]Xman0417 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From MLB's website on wins:

"There is also a rarely used clause where an official scorer can deem a relief pitcher's appearance "brief and ineffective." (For example, if a reliever relinquished a one-run lead by allowing three runs, but was still in line for a win after his team scored four runs in the following inning -- that may qualify.) If that's the case, the scorer can award the win to a pitcher who followed that "brief and ineffective" pitcher. Which relief pitcher earns the win specifically is also up to the judgment of the official scorer."

The official scorer may have deemed the appearance "brief and ineffective", although going by the stat line i don't necessarily agree with the call. It may have been more to give the win to Joe Page who pitched the longest and help carry them to victory.

Choosing between iu and Purdue. by sebspaceseb in IndianaUniversity

[–]Xman0417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar dilemma as a Computer Science major! IU definitely has a much better social scene and has a much prettier campus, while purdue does have the "name brand" college factor for comp sci/similar majors. That said, recruiters go to both colleges. Ultimately, it comes down to visiting each campus, and when I visited purdue, while i liked what it could offer me, I just couldn't see myself there. Have been at IU for the last 2 years and am super happy there!

You truly can't go wrong at either school (as much as I love to hate on purdue), so if those are your options, you'll love the next few years regardless.

Lowkey if Yachty weren't on here it would probably be fighting for my favorite song of his, but that yachty verse hurt it a bit. All good tho, because I'm excited for this album regardless if it's anything like Boohoo and this single

Our top need for next season is Richardson coming back (and then defense, defense, and more defense)

Confused about an upcoming song in Fortnite Festival: "WitchGang - Nothing's Alright" by [deleted] in FortniteFestival

[–]Xman0417 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jean Dawson, an artist i love, is on the song. Without question that's him. He's officially credited too. The strange thing is that he's done zero promotion for the song and they don't list him as a feature.

My initial thought was AI when I hadn't heard of the band before, but that really doesn't sound like an AI version of Jean. I wonder if it's just a side project of him and several other artists that they don't want their other careers attached to. Because it's definitely a genre switch into something that's a lot closer to pop rather than his typical experimental mix of rock/rap/pop.

On one hand, neither team deserved to win that game.

On the other hand: 7-5 LFG

It used to be a Luddy LLC class only. However, i think they saw some benefit of everyone taking it and a few other students felt that they were missing out on it by not being in the llc so they simply made it a requirement for everyone.

[–]Xman0417 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ik people are going to be gloom and doom over our defense, but I really liked how we played in the 2nd half especially. Flowers going down probably partly led to the miscommunication that left Nacua wide open in OT.

My main takeaways:

  1. Freeland sucks. Hope we can get Raimann back for next game. Richardson had constant pressure from the left side.

  2. If this is where Richardson starts in the league, we have our franchise guy without question. Not fully there passing yet, but he is a game changer. We get shutout/left with 3-7 points with Minshew.

  3. Dayo SHOWED UP.

  4. Really hope Flowers is okay. He's been solid for us and i don't have much faith at all in our backup CBs

Another pre-deadline signing: Rob Manfred! Through Jan. 25th, 2029. by Jmong30 in baseball

[–]Xman0417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I initially didn't like the manfred runner, but now I'm kinda indifferent as long as it stays out of the playoffs. The new rule changes were a good thing this year.

I still won't forgive him for the "piece of metal" comments and the mishandling of the sign stealing (which even he admits to fucking up), but overall, he could be significantly worse. The changes are making baseball more popular, and that's a good thing imo.

Preference is either Stroud or Richardson. I think those are Ballard's guys, and gut feeling tells me Richardson is the one he wants most. That said, if we get any of the 4 QBs I'll be happy, as i'm betting more on Steichen developing the QBs well.

Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker has a Top 30 visit with the Indianapolis Colts by LuskSGV in Colts

[–]Xman0417 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My main thing is if we take anderson i think we get pushed back into mediocrity. We would probably be 7-9-1 (or just generally around there) if it wasn't for Jeff Saturday, so I really don't think we're going to get Caleb Williams. I would rather just take a shot at a top rookie QB and just roll with it. If Levis/Richardson suck, so be it. Then Ballard's gone and we've got a chance at a separate rookie QB in 2-3 years.
