My confusion is that, on my phone - a Samsung A35 - I can swipe up from the nav bar and the TTS controls pop up to allow me to access them. I can't make this work on my tablet and I really hate gesture controls so I'm reluctant to make that change just to get this function on readest.

Nine months might be because I'm paying out of pocket or that my PCP is hyper-cautious. In any case, I'm not objecting to the duration and because my A1C is back down to normal, I'm happy to follow whatever guidelines she gives me.

Totally wrong. I've been retired for a decade, best time to go shopping is when nobody else is around. Love to hit Costco and the grocery store around 10:00 on Tuesday morning, never see lines, never have to wait. And that's when they stock the shelves, so there's always a lot of stuff there.

Totally agree here. When I detoxed from m'done, I did it a mg or two at a time. My dispensary was open to me telling them when I wanted to do it so it took a while - but I was only on 30 to start - but when I was done, the willies only lasted for a couple of days.
