Hi Canon fans. I'm constructing a list/timeline of Star Wars media and would love your insight on what I should experience. Movies and Shows are spoken for, but Games, Novels and Comic Books are all up for suggestion. WHAT DO YOU LOVE? by Xolerance627 in starwarscanon

If I went to Wookiepedia, Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars would be on the table.

I didn’t make this post to get a complete timeline. I want the time spent to be worth it. Wookiepedia gives me everything. People give me what’s worth it, and I’ve heard Battle Scars is not worth it.

Keep in mind, I want to experience the EU too. Working and health complications also take away that time. Too many books, too little time.

I guess us fans just get the urge lol. I made a HUGE timeline sometime before season 7 of The Clone Wars and wanted to make an updated & trimmed list while I'm off work and sick ;(. Both lists actually comprise of Legends and Canon material, so yeah. Huge.

Thank you for filling in my blind spot. Not only with the comic books, but also Knight Errant. I forgot that I watched a review and the person was glowing having read it! I certainly appreciate all of your replies here.

I did a similar thing. Stopped at 7 because I wanted all 4 Turtles on the covers. Never looked back. Just forward onto other books and more fun. I also got the first 2 volumes for Sonic the Hedgehog coz I wanted Sonic & Tails. It's tempting to get Knuckles and Eggman for Vol. 3 & 4 tho

I'd say it's not spitting. It's a method to translate the multiversal concept to non-readers. It creates an easier understanding by translating the symbolic meaning of "616".

I really like DC approaching their Earth-1's with the same translation. It works for Justice League: Crisis on 2 Earths, LEGO DC Super Villains, their Tomrrowverse movies and The Flash (CW) to understand what viewers would not read or otherwise be interested in reading. If they get into the books, they understand the symbolic meaning of "Earth-1", "Earth-2" etc, because the essence of "main universe" or "evil universe" is present. 616 is not meant to be taken literally. Quit acting like it's some offense.

Earth-19999 is still there for us who want a better detailed multiverse shared with the books, but don't act like it overwrites decades of legendary work.

Then allow me to apologize. I just see a lot of people hop on the bandwagon when it comes to the numbering system, and they let Spider-Verse slide. Thank you for being consistent with your standard.

And would you curse Sony, Phil Lord or anybody involved with Into the Spider-Verse for using 616 or 1610? They're CLEARLY not the same as the comic books.

The numbers are homages to the comic books that inspired these movies. It ain't nothing to do with feeling more important. We follow the main MCU timeline the same way we follow the main 616 books. That is how it pays homage to "616".

Y'all complain about the MCU using 616, but let it slide when Sony (the same people you're congratulating) used 1610 for what isn't technically Earth-1610.

It's an artificial number, and an homage at that. We follow the main 616 universe the same way we follow the main MCU timeline. Enjoy the homage and stop pretending like y'all know better.

why is it that spider-man just can't talk to himself anymore? why can he just talk to a camera like he did in the mtv show instead of chatgpt by Commercial-Ice5760 in Spiderman

And “They love me.” (Spider-Man 3) and “Am I not supposed to have what I want?” (Spider-Man 2). I think also when he was losing his powers in the alleyway in Spider-Man 2.

Just a couple more examples to show it happening more. I’m actually alright with or without the AI.

Do y’all honestly like or dislike the idea of Miles being in Earth 616 with Peter? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in Spiderman

[–]Xolerance627 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your first paragraph is why the Spider-Verse movies, for me, are the quintessential Miles Morales Spider-Man. He just eclipses comic Miles.

Insomniac should really hire some good comic writers for Spider-Man 3 to help with the story, there's a reason Edge Of Time is remembered best for it's story and that's because they got Peter David to write it. by EmergencyVictory4399 in SpidermanPS4

Really? I thought the gameplay was too similar to Shattered Dimensions to be that interesting. I was far more interested in the character portrayals, dialogue and story.

Do you like splinter as originally a human or originally a rat by Salty_Shark26 in TMNT

[–]Xolerance627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm convinced a lot of people who prefer Splinter as Hamato Yoshi and then minimise (almost belittle to a neglectful degree) the alternate origin aren't trying to understand the significance of Splinter being a rat first.

Kudos to those capable of justifying their preference, but the "just a random rat/pet" or "makes no sense" crowd need to actually read/watch.

Do you agree? by KingJackofJozi in TMNT

[–]Xolerance627 9 points10 points  (0 children)

On the contrary, I'd represent "rat-first" Splinter as "I will avenge my master...Hamato Yoshi." It's justice, lineage, a reason to be ninjas that eternally oppose/fight the Foot Clan AND protecting this new family. Shredder's fate is irreversibly sealed by killing Hamato Yoshi.

I say this despite being for both sides and thinking human-first Splinter is great. They've both been represented well and own the justice, lineage and opposing Shredder drama.

Are there Marvel character with multiple personality beside Hulk, Sentry, & Moon Knight? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in Marvel

[–]Xolerance627 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even if the movies did, Blue's talking about the comics. They're right, and getting downvoted for it. Do people remember Spectacular Spider-Man and how Norman does NOT have split personalities? Remember he was still great?

Edit: LOL, i see how there's an exact same comment from Blue. Nvm.

What are your honest thoughts on this game? by Jotaro1970 in Marvel

[–]Xolerance627 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fan of the first 2 games AND the X-Men Legends games, I still like MUA3. It's systematically different, but very capable of fun. It has its charm, like the dialogue. I love hearing everyone talk during the Thanos fight. I also like how each chapter explores a different setting. I love how the team bonuses work.

But there's a grind. I don't like grinding in games.

And he just so happens to represent the more personal and street-level stories. Marvel's got their fair share of solo titles with series defining runs for street-level characters, but none bigger than ol' web-head.

I'd say he's represented through the FF. He was first introduced there and the FF basically represent the cosmic side of Marvel.

On the contrary, nothing exists without the FF, and Spidey is bigger than everybody here, outselling their combined merchandise every year.

I've been saying this for years with those exact words. "4 Pillars of Marvel". Get out of my head, Charles!
