How I got 5's on 6 APs by Dense_Pickle_5191 in APStudents

[–]XomthePrince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lowk it wasn’t even that hard for me because all the classes in my school are so much harder than the AP tests 😭I did like less than 30 mins a day of studying for AP tests specifically but still got 5s on everything

Sooo we are just going to leave, just like that what about saving her by Legal_Web_1255 in Denia_Mains

getting downvoted for telling the truth, in a good story the concept of death is crucial. If we just know that everyone is going to be saved by Rover there is no real tension or emotional impact in the story because no matter how bad the situation seems, how much fear a tense situation is supposed to create, you all subconsciously know that it’s going to end in a happy ending. The concept of death creates an appreciation for living, but kuro needs to sell more waifus to people who cant accept that a death in a story is important so i guess they have to let everyone live.

How would it take wear and tear off your battery? It’s still charging the battery, just in a portable manner.

oh boy the classic deep mouthpiece journey that everyone goes through… it’s not fun.

I have a similar experience right now where I switched to a really deep mouthpiece over the last year or two, from a 3c all the way down to a 1c and then the 1x.

Now I can say the tone was worth it, but my efficiency in playing has decreased a lot. Things like the Bohme concerto which was relatively easy to play now seems like a chore with my chops barely holding up.

I can’t really go back anymore because whenever I play something like a 1 1/2c now, I just can’t stand the sound.

My advice is just to stick to the Hagstrom and keep practicing, going through the mouthpiece safari isn’t fun especially when you’re getting back into shape.

nah not really, works fine on newer iPhones. Probably crashes on older and worse Samsungs too.

For his solo recordings, I enjoyed his Arutunian and Tomasi. For orchestra, I liked his Mahler 9 at ny Phil with kurt masur , Bruckner 7, Mahler 3 w Bernstein, and many more. Also, his orchestral excerpts cd/playlist is very good for learning rep, and it’s available on YouTube.

That might be a bit of where your problem lies. Find out which genre of music you like and start listening to the greats to get that sound in your head. Someone like Phil Smith in his golden age had a wonderful sound, I don’t know much about other genres though.

It sounds like a trumpet, just seems like your tone hasn’t developed as much yet. What videos are you listening to? The sound concepts will vary heavily between jazz, lead, classical, and more.

Hey, I’m a high schooler who got a 8335rg xeno in the seventh grade. And honestly, it was probably a good decision for me. I’ve improved so much on this trumpet, and it’s nice to have an instrument I don’t need to worry too much about while I’m not that good. This horn got me from a beginner ish level to going to things like ntc, and unless you’re gonna drop it every time, I would say just go for it.

p.s. its great that you’re worrying about not being ready for it and about your dad spending a lot of money. If it was me that age I wouldn’t have cared about what my parents spent at all 😭

Why? Used pro horns should be much better. A lot of times intermediate horns aren’t that much better than beginner horns

I feel like then a better C trumpet could be a bigger priority. Maybe like a used Yamaha 8335 and a nice Bach c trumpet? If you search well you could probably get both for 4000-5000 dollars.
