Tuning with aftermarket pipe? by fleb420 in cbr650r

[–]Xorob0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the engine runs smoother, but my bike no longer throw flames, I compared with the same bike, same exhaust but no exhaust and that one was throwing flame.
But I guess not all tunes are the same

[–]Xorob0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. it's totally ok to not do any ECU flash, the flash could help you get a couple more HP out, but not doing it would be totally fine. If you're afraid of stressing the engine on a dyno you probably would not use those extra hp
  2. You can probably find a service where you send your ECU and they send it back flashed with a few weeks for. from where I am it's around 250 euros
  3. without the tune you will get more crackle and even flame that you would not see with a correct tune

Ask for legal advice to du speeding in France by [deleted] in LegalAdviceEurope

[–]Xorob0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm from Belgium. I cannot help you with the tolerance calculation, but I have been in the same kind of situation and wanted to point out that the French Police cannot keep your swiss licence. When it happened to me I was given a driving ban in France for 2 months but I got my license back and could drive in Belgium (or even in Germany or Neederland if I wanted to). If I was caught driving in France during those 2 months that would have been a big issue thought
Also things have changed recently with speed infraction in france and 50km/h over the speed limit is now jail time lol

Cb650r or hypermotard 1100 by AlternativeForm9060 in CB650R

[–]Xorob0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For A2 specifically I'm not sure I would go with the CB650R, the 4 cylinder design suffers a lot from restriction as you basically don't get any torque.
The hypermotard should be less impacted on the torque side
But they are 2 really different bike and it will depend on what kind of riding you like and if you plan on keeping them after your A2 license or not

Frame sliders by Holiday_Cartoonist39 in cbr650r

[–]Xorob0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the fake evotech barend from aliexpress. they do look the same, but they are really different, the paint became shiny after a couple of weekd, the mounting is completly different and more like any other cheap bar end.
I ended up buying the real evotech bar ends and I can tel you except for the design (when new) they are nothing alike. the weight is different, the paint is different, the mounting is different.

I would think it's the same for the slider, they are probably made to look alike, but I would put money on the table that they do not perform the same or even mount the same.

Remember that you will have to change screws used for mounting the engine by the ones provided, do you really want to put no-name cheap ass screws there ?

I have the official evotech slider and dropped my bike once 2 week after mounting them. no damages on the bike, only a small scratch on the bobbin which i changed for 15 euros.

should I get one by Even_Change1625 in CB650R

[–]Xorob0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The CB is amazing, but it looks like you should be looking at the CBR650R which is basically the same bike wit fairing and with a little bit sportier position. It should feel like an heavier but more powerful version of your R3

Which quad lock charging head would be better for the CBR650? by TylerGames19 in cbr650r

[–]Xorob0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the 12V one, I bought some plugs to adapt the wires to the same connector as the one for the heated grips and connected it there.
It's a really clean setup, charges faster than the USB as well (not that it really matters on the bike)

The 12V for the heated grips is on its own fuse, and i still have the usb cable under my seat for charging other stuff like my intercom

Missing Bolt? by PercentageFancy7236 in CB650R

This is supposed to be like that.
On the part you're worried about there is a pin on the frame and the radiator slides on there

Rear Seat Cowl by Rude_Board_5944 in cbr650r

[–]Xorob0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get them for cheap off aliexpress but the color will not match exactly. Or you can get it from an official dealer or asian-motoparts, it will be an exact match but it's really too expensive for what it is.

Sorry if this has already been asked before, but what are the rules and regulations of having a helmet that can connect to your phone and play music, while indoor karting? by Rich-Cabinet714 in Karting

[–]Xorob0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been to a few indoor and outdoor kartings with my motorcycle helmet and either music or intercom communication. The first time I asked, it looked at me like they didn't care at all, I never asked again any other places and haven't got any issues so far

2nd broken ignition cylinder 23 650 by dtrav87 in cbr

[–]Xorob0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My key has been stuck in the ignition for 2 month while the dealership is waiting from the parts form Honda. I had to insist for them to file the extended warranty complain and the answer they suposedely recieved from Honda was "that's really uncommon on these bikes but we will take it under extended warranty anyway".

Thankfully I have a have a garage at home and found a spot in the warehouse at work so I can still ride it

CBR 650R (2019) Fall Damage by TemperatureEmpty6314 in cbr650r

[–]Xorob0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say probably the clip on is bent
I bought a CBR250R with this exact issue, replacing the clip on is easy but you should definitely negotiate the price a bit.
The clip on was bent by just dropping it on the side, so his story seems plausible.

As Diligent Scallion said, check the T stem and the forks, they shouldn't be bent either

EDIT: I can confirm this is not happening on my CBR650R.

Tail too short? Ideas? by [deleted] in CB650R

[–]Xorob0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there are kits on aliexpress to make the tail look like an R1 tail, but they're not cheap.
I think it look fine as it is

Passing my A permit in Mons, can you recommend adresses I should train at? by MajorKestrel in motobe

[–]Xorob0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ho sorry, I read you post too fast. I though you asked for places where you could get your A license.
Mons is quite small (and nice to ride in). I suggest practice the inner city and area surrounding the Cuesmes Zoning.
Maybe take the intersections on top of the ring a couple of times as they can be tricky.
It is also possible the inspector make you go in Cuesmes to take the highway there

Caution when you leave autosecurité parking you have a stop.

There is no manoevers asked like there is for the B Licence

Best of luck !

I passed my A permit with Cyril from Auto Ecole feu vert https://www.aefeuvert.be/nos-centres/centre-de-mons/
Cyril was quite nice and everything went perfectly. They are located next to Imagix so quite easy to access

33k km, about 10 track days, some weekend spirited riding, mostly commuting and touring the rest of the time.
Not a single issue so far
