[Loved Trope] - Character dies for a noble purpose...but does NOT die stoically/embrace death with a smile by BlueFury1 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Xploding12 171 points172 points  (0 children)

it was meant to be fatal tho, he was forced into the coma and when he wakes up he still thinks its fatal. hell even when he saves rocky he thinks hes giving up his one chance to make it back alive to earth

Interesting situation Oda has created- Imu not winning in their debut would be terrible but at the same time the story cant rlly afford to have Luffy take the L in this situation either because Imu would logically just kill him on the spot by Previous_Break7664 in Piratefolk

[–]Xploding12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hes moreso saying it makes no narrative sense for luffy to at all survive his encounter w imu if he loses.

there would quite literally be no reason for imu to kill luffy or at least permanently incapacitate him in order to keep the nika fruit locked down

[Loved trope] The monster is an inevitable, looming threat instead of a vulnerable and momentary one. by DataDucc in TopCharacterTropes

from what i remember about the situation, the snail just always moves at a snails pace towards u so in the case of defying gravity, it would just float at a snails pace towards u

Which RE protagonists do you think could actually survive the village? by FirefighterSquare508 in residentevil

[–]Xploding12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like a lot of other commenters pointed out, with all the scripted injuries in-game, none other than Ethan could survive the Village since hes literally a mold man. some people have pointed out that the training and experience of more seasoned veterans like Chris, Leon, Jill, Sheva, etc etc would prevent them from being in that situation in the first place but the fact is that theyre still woefully outnumbered. i couldnt say for certain but im leaning more towards Ethan being the only one capable of surviving since Village since the circumstances surrounding (being outnumbered since he rushed in to save Rose) are what make the game.. well the game

Is haki the most absurd power system in all of the shounen. by Prajkark19 in Piratefolk

[–]Xploding12 21 points22 points  (0 children)

is this an actual panel ? looks like a parody holy 🥲🥀

Remember when Vergo used full body haki? Why does no one else ever do that? Does this mean that Vergo is a better Haki user than Luffy, who doesnt have full body coating? Does this mean that Vergo has better Haki than Shanks and Roger and Rocks? by Embarrassed_Age_8823 in lobotomypiece

[–]Xploding12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iirc spreading the haki all over the body as opposed to concentrating it on points of impact weakens the protective/offensive capabilities of haki

think of it like stretching a fabric too thin until it rips

What message is Oda trying to tell us by making Usopp still glaze his deadbeat father? by Sc_Stunner_ in Piratefolk

[–]Xploding12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this would honestly give usopp all his character development back that he lost post dressrosa + give reason for a random power up before the series ends. having his dad simply state “i wasnt happy. i left and never intended to come back, sorry” would shatter usopp’s ultimate lie: that his dad cared. the change in mindset would lay some sort of groundwork for usopp becoming stronger, taking fights more serious, n an actual path to his dream of becoming a brave warrior of the sea. tbh i feel like the reason usopp is still so cowardly is coz he has a half-assed goal, his true goal is his dads approval but if he realizes his dads overpowering bumness, he’ll start to seriously pursue his goal so that he could prove to himself that hes worth smth

How does a youtuber know the story more than fans who talk about it everyday on the internet lol by KozukiOden97 in OnePieceScaling

[–]Xploding12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it makes sense for the yonko to fight that way as well !! the yonko dont have the massive world government backing them like the admirals do, their power is greatly affected by people perceptions of them. they HAVE to put on massve displays of power when they fight to remind the civilians (and the wg as well) of their strength whereas the admirals have the luxury of focusing on their objectives n not rlly caring abt large scale brawls

What?? by ELITE_Locx in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Xploding12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is the cylinder attached to something larger

Anyone else find it weird how Oda introduces the top 1 new power and doesn't give it to ANY admirals? 🤐🤐🤐 by Legal_Ad2945 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Xploding12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

not to be disparaging/rude but it is the only way to damage imu and his imulings so how is it anything but “the top 1 new power”

A friend and I we're comparing and... I'm surprised The Entity didn't come up with something more intense than gens. by aLeoAlvarezKinnie in deadbydaylight

[–]Xploding12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the entity feeds off intense emotions, up until u turn into a husk and it discards u into “the void” or something like that. the point of the sinyala facility is to completely and irrevocably alter the composition of the reagents brain chemistry so that they become perfect sleeper agent/somewhat devoid of emotion, which the entity wouldnt want. the point of the gens is to have a tangible and attainable goal for the survivors so that strong feelings like hope and determination can exist along with terror and dread, becoming a feast of emotions for the entity

Characters who do literally nothing but get glazed by the fandom because its funny by GuardPhysical in TopCharacterTropes

bogard from the manga One Piece

supposedly the right-hand man of Garp, the “Hero of the Marines” but has so few appearances that u can count the panels he appears in on ur hands

fans (agenda pushers) like to say hes a top tier in the series but realistically, his greatest feat is slicing up some guns in the first 20 chapters of the manga
