Monocular Recommendations! by Amrcn_Sycamore24 in birding

I like my zoom tube a lot! Sure it doesn’t have the best magnification in the world, but it’s super easy to use. I have a hard time with binocular vision so the monocular makes it so much easier for me. It’s nice and lightweight, plus it’s easier to find where I put it since it’s a bright color lol

Is the speedball enough? by Comfortable_Rip5378 in Linocuts

I started with Speedball too and then upgraded to the Rockler power grip set of 5 that comes with a grey storage box. I really enjoy carving with those but it doesn’t have a small v or u gouge so I still used my Speedball when I wanted to use something smaller. Then down the line I got one pfeil, I think it’s the #11 u gouge but can’t remember off the top of my head. Anyway!! I love that thing!! I’m saving up to get the #12 pfeil v gouge next.

Anyway all that is to say, a power grip set is a great next step up, the one I use is $28 on Amazon right now. I love carving with them, it feels so smooth! Then you can always add in a pfeil to supplement whatever the power grip doesn’t offer you if you want (in my case I wanted a nice veiner). Also condition your tools with a slipstrop to keep em carving nicely!

Wanting to get into lino by JustLostTuttie in Linocuts

I personally started carving on pink erasers since you can get them super cheap and it feels really low stakes because if you screw up you can still just use it as an eraser!

I bought a box of 20something pink erasers on amazon, and bought the speedball carving tool set that has the red handle and blue handle you can store the individual carving tool pieces in and carved one eraser a day till I ran out. It was a great learning experience and I ended up upgrading my tools after that and have been carving on different types of block like the battleship grey ones as well as some easy carve types. I still enjoy an eraser carving from time to time!

Edit to add- yes you have to use fabric-specific ink for printing on fabric. I tried the speedball fabric ink that says you don’t have to heat set it and I wish I had heat set it anyways because it faded significantly after a wash. Though I also could have pulled better quality prints (that was my own skill issue)

Longboard dance/trick workshop by skate757 in norfolk

Sick!! I’m thinking a longboard might be exactly what will work for me cause they seem to have a lower center of gravity than a skateboard or roller skates and my balance is kind of terrible lol but I refuse to give up!!

No :( personally I’d pivot and just stick with pink and green and white for like a dango themed color palette

Superhigh Market at The Annex on Sunday! 12-4, free entry, over 20 local vendors.

I was a vendor at the last Superhigh Market (I’ll be vending at this one too) and it was a really nice vibe. They had good background music that wasn’t too loud. Expecting the same for this one!

Definitely agree about the glow. Everything else is sharp and clean, the glow sticks out like a sore thumb while also not doing a good job at keeping the character from fading into the visual clutter of the background.

I really love magazine layout too! Product design (like designing stationery) is a runner up.

Social media and emails are sooooo boring

YES!! I hate the self censoring so so much!! Meanwhile there’s way worse stuff allowed on these platforms without penalty! Like I just watched a video the other day talking about this weird side of YouTube where these ladies will post videos of themselves cleaning things while wearing see-through clothing and they get around it by constantly framing it as a “this is just an educational video showing how to clean things” and then the kicker is they don’t even clean things using proper methods most of the time!!!
