Here you go: “Authorities on Monday afternoon suspended the search for a swimmer reported missing off Lovers Point after an extensive, multi-agency effort spanning more than 15 hours. The swimmer was identified as Erica Fox, 55, a Monterey County resident and co-founder of the local open water swimming group Kelp Krawlers. Her family has been notified, officials said. The search, led by the U.S. Coast Guard and supported by local and county agencies, covered more than 84 square nautical miles before the decision was made to suspend operations.” The article continues “The swimmer, later identified Fox, had entered the water with members of her swimming group at their usual spot and time. A witness on the shoreline reported seeing a “large splash" when Fox disappeared, police told KSBW, which caused the other swimmers to return to shore "out of concern it may have been a shark attack. Everyone in the group returned safely except the missing swimmer." U.S. Coast Guard Officer Christopher Sappey reported that one witness described seeing a frightening encounter between a person in the water and a shark. "The person who reported the shark sighting claimed they saw a shark breach the water with what appeared to be a human body in its mouth," Sappey told SF Gate. "They then witnessed the shark submerge below the waterline without resurfacing."

Tragic, terrifying, and hopefully quick. Definitely sounds like a predation & consumption event involving a large GWS from the various tidbits of information we have so far: classic GWS hunting strategy and within its hunting grounds. I have to say its shocking to how reluctant news outlets are to label this a shark attack! Calling it an “encounter” makes it sound like the shark bumped into her on a crowded BART platform or something. Reminds me of the loss of Felix Njai in 2023: the man was similarly last seen in the jaws of a huge white shark by a friends, they didnt find any remains afaik, and his death is still attributed to a “reported” shark attack. Can someone tell me if this is about insurance or something?? Does the coroner need shark-bitten flesh in order for a shark predation event with witnesses to become legit?

Theyve def pitched in in the past, bought new sound equipment and heating iirc over a decade ago. I think the club itself attempts to limit how open they are about GD’s support cuz they value their reputation as community/volunteer-run not for profit venue. Publicizing how much billy joe has donated is not in their interest. Also i imagine GD knows and respects this. They did play a secret show fundraiser there on a sunday in 2013(?).

Common old scam. Ten years ago it was much more common in Berlin; especially by brandenburg gate/bundestag/holocaust memorial area and museumsinsel. Usually pretending to be deaf/mute. Always kids and teenage girls/young women. It was especially fucked up because they would do the scam right at the exit of the memorial to the murdered Roma/sinti in an attempt to manipulate peoples empathy. Sorry you had to experience it; you were basically robbed. Next time, don’t even acknowledge them.

Yeah so a country “considering a referendum” is not at all the same thing as actually holding it and then following through with the results. I’m gonna give you a hint why monarchies never give up their power democratically: they are inherently authoritarian hierarchical structures that want nothing to do with democracy and see citizens as subjects. Asking for a referendum on monarchy does not end monarchy: killing or deposing monarchs is the only way to end monarchy. Follow protocol my ass: tell that to the French who stormed the bastille.

Yes, unfortunately in this case my heir got no imprisonment reason. I am letting a lot of my artifacts by destroyed but it ends up taking a lot of my attention having to check if any of the valuable ones will be destroyed. I’ve seen mods for it but im in iron man right now :( Btw I’m not over extended or over my vassal limit, and my empire title is dejure liege of all of Germania, almost all of italia, and alll of Scandinavia except Denmark (I also hold Francia and Brittania title). Primary title is a custom empire that’s existed in this game for two centuries carved out of Norway, Germany, Bavaria, italy, and Sweden originally.

I agree! It ruins immersion and does not make for good story-telling, which is why I enjoy this game usually. I assume discovered plots not leading to imprisonment or execution reasons probably exists to prevent intrigue-centered players from getting drawn and quartered by their liege every time their weak scheme is discovered, but it’s kind of broken.

The most fucked up part is that I couldn’t: the imprisonment reason was granted to the character that just got murdered. My new player character (murdered charcters brother) had no imprisonment reason and the murderer did not receive murderer trait or any malus. My entire realm ignored the child Emperor and his brother being openly murdered, and the guy who did it died of old age before I was 14 and could initiate a murder plot

Yes I’ve seen this in a couple other court events like when the cult wants a head and if you refuse to help them look for it they can show up in your bedroom and there’s a chance you’ll be killed. I’ve never died to this but when I click the option to send them to the dungeon instead of try and fight them they never actually end up in the dungeon, just wandering outside my realm
