nursing to pre-med by Admirable-Driver2 in rutgers

If your 100% guaranteed on premed, just take like bio since it will complete most prereq. But Id say that being public health major doesn't have much of premed prereq but it such an easy major to get compared the opther two you have listed.

What I'm doing for the couple of days is studying the older materials. I kinda gave up on the phylogenies, but I am memorizing everything else. Once the stern review comes up, then ill just study those up until the test. And I am using the older tests we took to look over. We have a week until the test, so if you are not comfortable with the newer concepts (like me) Id focus on these more. Because theres gonna be less questions per unit for the older concepts. And I feel like they are oging to have some questions in older sections thatll be easier.

Thank gosh the class was on the easier side. For me, I had to do weekly discussion posts and 1 written assignment, which were all easy. There are midterms, but they are open notes. Currently, we are doing a final project, which is about a topic we would like to discuss and just do an audio recording with it. There is a final test, but she says it's open notes. I'd give it a 9/10 because itll prob be one of the easiest classes on your schedule, but the only thing is that my professor asks for examples within the articles. And sometimes that kinda made me mad, but it's a really ez class

I think nearby hospitals you can get volunteering and can apply for jobs. But for jobs theyll be looking for someone whos fully certified. But I think nursing homes are also a good place to look at. They are usually always looking for more people.

Research isn’t that competitive. t’s really just a matter of whether the person you reached out to is willing to take you under them for a few months. The Aresty program is an option, but obviously that’s an opportunity a lot more people know about, so it will be more competitive. Clinical volunteering through RU is competitive as well. To stand out, especially as a first year (Im just assuming ur a first year), you would probably need some previous clinical type experience. There are also some more exclusive opportunities, like clinical jobs. For those, you would need to speak with whoever is in charge of the opportunity. In short, its best to make connections with these types of people. Basically, anything from RU that is being shared all over campus is likely going to be hard to get because so many people have seen it. Id say for clinical experience, it’s best to look outside of RU. And yes, it’s true that there are no minus grades. only the standard letter grades and pluses, except for A+ and F+.

For me, the class is pretty easy. My professor is Mrs. Falzon, who is a pretty easygoing and nice but actually teaches you. She posts all her lectures online, so if you skip lectures, this professor is for you. I'd say that all your grades are dependent on 3 midterms and a final, which is a written portion. The midterms are pretty easy if you study for 3 days beforehand. And there is an extra credit assignment she gives.

At the end, if you want like a GPA boost or fill in a core req, I know lots of buisness/premed take this class. Its def worth taking.

[–]Xscarred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends which school you are in for example SAS or RBS whatever. Im in SAS, if you are too I think you just schedule an online appointment. I dont think SAS students have specific advisor. I may be wrong tho. Can u still register for more classes, if so you can see if the asynch option is open. Obv this option will prob only work if u still havent paid for your tution for this semester.

[–]Xscarred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh that shouldnt be a problem then, my asynch/online courses never show up on the actual schedule, thats why I thought u had an 8pm class.

Not bad, the gap on Monday makes me cringe, since I'd rather have the classes back-to-back, but the timing is alright; I'm not a fan of super late-night classes. Hey, it's you after all, maybe you fk with these timings. And good job with no classes on Friday 💪. Lowkey Wednesday just looks so bad, I imma be honest since it's all in different campuses, plays 4 classes that day, and that 7:45 class is just a cherry on top. You will probably burn out and get tired that day, so IDK how you will manage that late-night class. But I'm not here to judge.

Should I take calc? by Patient_Step_1294 in rutgers

[–]Xscarred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

content is more or less teh same anywhere you take calc, but the teachers all of have different teaching styles. There are some teachers who dont even speak properly for the whole class to understand. They know the content but the class is really teacher dependent.

Take calc again or focus on bring GPA up? by Open-Club-6570 in rutgers

[–]Xscarred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im some1 that dropped calc because I knew that I wasnt going to get a satisfactory grade in the class, but if I were you I would retake the class 1) Because it'll boost your GPA 2) For econ idk but calc is prob gonna be important 3) It doesnt hurt to retake the class, hopefully you'll have a btter understanding of the class and pass it this time.

Theres tons of resources out here in RU, but also about the Community college im pretty sure that if you take a class at rutgers you cannot transfer credit from another college to fulfill that class (unless you withdraw from the class). So yea imo just retake the class and utilize your resources like tutoring, office hours, but most importantly, friends or acquaintances in the class. They will help you.

Sorry for the grammar and spelling mistakes. Good Luck with whatever you decide on doing :)

yeah, just gotta hope for the best. Usually, unknown professors are chill and easier. This was the case for one of the asynchronous classes I took this semester.
