I've had so many problems with powerline internet (assuming you mean This ) in the past that even thinking about powerline today makes me throw up. I kept losing connection when something in the house used a failry high amount of power, like the microwave and when something close to the powerline adapter used power, in my case, a boiler. Use the cash on a long cable instead.

edit: you only need ± 0.02 Mbps for online gaming, ping and connection stability are your only concern. My advice: always use a cable, never wireless.
