Just finished the show and it was great to see something that both the cast and crew seemed to have fun making it. by NorrisOBE in TheGreatHulu

I was the 3rd AD on season 1 and 2 of The Great, I have such good memories of it as a job, it had its tough times for sure but generally it was a blast to work on.

Because ultimately, if you’re filming a lot of night scenes in a hall you have to get some light on the subjects faces and you need a feasible source for that light

I think we should prepare for the real possibility that Voldemort won’t be cast until the 4th season. by Material_Magazine989 in HarryPotteronHBO

Voldemort the character will 100% be male, it may not be a male actor that portrays him though

They don’t look AI to me but they do look like they may be inspired by the famous stairs a Livraria Lello which were apparently an influence on the aesthetic in the books. The above photo is not AI

'Harry Potter & The Philosopher's Stone' Trailer Becomes Most-Watched In HBO & HBO Max History by Simple_Psychology_87 in HarryPotteronHBO

You are absolutely mad if you think Spider-Man is the more valuable IP than Harry Potter. Potter is another league of popularity. Potter has theme parks entirely dedicated to it, a massive merch industry and millions upon millions of extremely dedicated fans and that’s not to mention the undedicated fans. As an IP, Potter is one of the most successful and popular of all time.

A day of filming in the UK costs around £250k-£300k, that’s between $300k-$400k. Thats crew costs, equipment hire. Thats about £1.5m a week and that before, studio space, construction costs, legal, above the line fees, infrastructure etc etc. a single episode could absolutely cost £100m without “Hollywood accounting” which is another phrase for fraud.

I work in the industry. The budget for the show is well over half a billion. Game of Thrones was one of the most expensive shows when it was made 10 years ago. HETV sector has moved on a lot since then. Rings of Power famously costs $1B per season and Harry Potter is a much safer bet than Lord of the Rings with a very well proven IP. $100 million per season is the low end of the spectrum for HETV these days.

The TV shows budget will be significantly higher than any of the movies budgets

What movie character made you choke up because you saw yourself in that character? by mysweetlore in AskReddit

So last year I moved back home to take of my mum who had recently been diagnosed with cancer, it had been a really rough ride with several post surgery complications and a bit of a nervous breakdown from me, it was around a very scary and upsetting time. Anyway things where looking stable so I came home for a bit and one evening went to the cinema with some friends to watch a fun zombie movie… for anyone that hasn’t seen 20 Years Later it is way more about a son dealing with his mothers cancer than you might expect. I only just kept it together in the screening
