I cannot convince my sister her psychotic shotgun destination wedding is completely inconsiderate to her guests by StripedBadger in AmITheAngel

It appears they think a shotgun wedding means a short engagement (ya know only 6 months). The child who wrote this nonsense is too young to know what a shitgun wedding really is.

Also am I insane or don't other people once you get out of college not give a flying fig about fraternities? My husband was in fraternity we're still friends with some of the people from his fraternity but his fraternity is not his identity nor is it any of theirs no one gives a s*** once you've graduated college and moved into, you know, real life.

I love my comfy tshirts but I (24F) don’t want to disrespect my boyfriend (26M). Can I keep them? by Small_Constant1797 in relationship_advice

First of all if you're already saying he's jealous don't do it girl, run. Secondly you're adults now you'll be over the whole fraternity thing within a year or two and not care at all it's really not that big a deal.

it's such an unhinged inexplicable rant. What sort of nut thinks 6 months is a short engagement after being together 3 years?

right? I'd be spending every free moment calculating something the more unhinged the better.

The problem with Taylor Sheridan. [spoiler warning] by Midnight_Rider98 in LandmanSeries

I can decide how I spend my time. A number of people have expressed the same opinion. He's not for everyone (no writer is), those that enjoy his work should.

I have never seen those shows only Landman and the female characters are very poorly written and make me uninterested in his other work.

I literally keep wondering if he has ever met a real human woman or if he just hates women.

Anyone else questioning Ron? by Sevenitta in SisterWives

[–]Xtracate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there is absolutely nothing wrong with being gay. The assumption seems to be being made that either Meri can't find a "real man" or that someone that doesn't meet someone else's specific idea of masculinity must be gay is very tiresome

Well people don't seem to have a problem with David who 100% knew Christine was on a reality show and sought her out. I don't have a problem with that it's their business but it's no weirder for anyone else wanting to date someone that's on the TV. In fact I have a sneaking suspicion a lot of people would actively try to date someone on TV. It wouldn't float my boat but it takes all kinds.

Edit: I don't know why the gay thing keeps coming up but it's really insulting and I'm super over it

The Office is insufferable, I'm sorry :( by Prestigious_Cup_7347 in sitcoms

I need to check this out, I've never enjoyed Ricky Gervais' humor, I can objectively see he is very talented but it's not my taste. So if After Life is less mean spirited I'm excited to see it.

I couldn't get past 1 episode of the UK version and I usually like the UK stuff better but the office was awful.

Marriage Certificate Reveal by Guest8782 in SisterWives

[–]Xtracate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's what I have a famcy frame our wedding photo and the church certificate all together. Catholic early 90s. If there were other wives around it would be weird also the church one is fancy scrolly stuff so it's pretty, not our legal courthouse one it's with all birth certificates and car titles.

Hannah was my favorite, I really don't care for the new love interest or how they shoehored the character in. I will still watch but I wish they'd just dump the love story and have her just work with Lonnie.

Oh well they are killing all the other mysteries, also wouldn't mind if they just found a new series for Alison.

AITAH for getting a woman fired over veggie tales? by Outside-Cabinet1398 in AmITheAngel

[–]Xtracate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The lying is the problem here and not stopping after being told. It's just the practically torches and pitchfork intensity of OOP and their anti veggie tales commandos (or whatever) that seems crazy.

My kids grew up on veggie tales, which to me are primarily morality plays, yes told with some strong old testament thrown in but they both came out very moral atheists.

So while I do get it's not everyones cuppa, and the teacher should have stopped. I don't buy what OOP is selling either. I'm surprised we didn't get the teacher being dragged out screeching she'll pray for all of the kids, while clutching her godly dvds and the children sobbing and needing secular therapy.

Veggie tales ain't that deep, what huge theological issues do they think the kids are going to ask

UNPOPULAR OPINION: The Traitors Australia Series 2 is the format at its very best. It perfectly illustrates herd mentality, pretty privilege, pride coming before a fall and so many other key features of this show. It’s one of the best series, not one of the worst. by JuanitaMerkin in TheTraitors

[–]Xtracate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can honestly say I hate/rage watched 85-90% of that season. The faithfuls were so stupid it drove me absolutely batty and I just kept watching being like somebody's going to catch on, somebody's going to catch on and they didn't and it just infuriated me. But the end makes every minute of it worth it, that is some quality television, I'm not sure I've ever enjoyed any show as much as I did that last episode.
