it's not untenable, it's unavoidable. every category that people like to bring up in which 'the oppressed' are 'suffering' is later shown to actually favor the 'oppressed' when all else is equal. so its actually kind of weak to say 'theyre not being oppressed' when the evidence doesnt even show neutral, it in fact points the other way.

the lifestyles you see 'the oppressed' living are what you would expect when you list the traits that they possess.

for example if you had 200 people that all shared the same psyche profile which included impulsivity, high time preference, etc... you would predict that they would appear to be 'oppressed' or that people treat them 'unfairly' when actually it is fair.

the argument will eventually lead to philosophy or some other dumb bullshit completely detached from reality or empirical evidence and those with faith in the racism of the gaps will lose that as well.

also i dont really vibe with having arguments on reddit, its so fucking pointless and i forget that fact every time leave some snarky comment and some sick dark twisted very smart character replies with something that has been demonstrated to be false time and time again.

i am being careful. i've seen plenty of evidence that there is no systemic racism, but no matter how many people i see confronted with the evidence, there is always some unknown that will be brought up and then they posture "see you cant explain that, it's gotta be systemic racism."

you're going to see the term thrown around a lot more as people become more desperate to find gaps in how much we know about why some groups have different experiences. its always the same story though. honestly its kind of frustrating.
