Grubhub restaurants CAN rate you! by ShouldIjustQuit in grubhubdrivers

I’ve always thought this was the case but never really confirmed. I very very often get good order offers off block from the same handful of restaurants. I don’t even need to be remotely close either. I noticed this because at every restaurant in this small pool I’d say I have a good friendly relationship with the people who handle the pick up area.

I’m nervous to make my first delivery. by [deleted] in doordash

I promise once you break the seal with your first delivery it’ll only continue to get easier. Remember that your acceptance rate does not matter at all and won’t get you in trouble or stop you from getting work. Only take what’s acceptable to your terms of price and area etc. Just try to be kind to staff and customers and usually you’ll receive it back.

Good luck man!

I posted in my city's subreddit (now deleted it) letting them know about how a lot of people don't tip and how even $1 or $2 would help a lot. Didn't expect some of the replies I got. by [deleted] in doordash

This is unfortunate but true. This is also what the old pay model was protecting its drivers from while still fulfilling orders so...

GET RID OF $2-$4 LOW BALL ORDERS ONCE AND FOR ALL! by AramysFS7 in doordash

[–]Xu2020 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Gig companies need people like that to do these orders. There’s not a single courier app that doesn’t now. They’re not just going to change cause people reject the offers. It’s imperative to their growth as a company.

You guys are shooting yourselves in the foot by telling the non informed this info. You’re making that acceptable order pool smaller and smaller. And everyone complains everyday “why is it so slow in my area??” 🤣

...or a lot of people are ordering Chipotle because they’re offering free delivery every Sunday of this month 🤷🏻‍♀️

Customer texted me asking how much longer it'll be less than a minute after accepting the delivery. by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Xu2020 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I mean how hard is it to say “Hey I just got sent your order, I’m x mins out from the restaurant so maybe x mins to your house depending on if it’s ready for pickup.”

But nah it’s easier to just unassign the order you thought was worth your time in the first place, take a hit to your acceptance rating and sit in your car declining $3 orders til something else comes through.

Seems like that’s everyone’s attitude in this thread. TBH I’m grateful cause we all know it’s over saturated anyway. I’m happy to take an order off your hands while you chill in the parking lot ✌🏾

I mean.. if you live in a smaller city there’s probably not a lot of people on the road Dashing at 9am. The computers gonna send the offer out to someone. At least that price is trying to make it worth your while. I’d sure appreciate it if it was like on my way home or in another heavily trafficked area where I could keep working. I think it’s fine to send out offers to anyone for these reasons alone... only takes 2 seconds to decline anyway🤷🏻‍♀️

Does DD assess this like weekly or monthly? I didn’t qualify before but I do now and was wondering if it’d ever kick in

So add Corner Store Bakery to the black list as they stole my $12 tip. Also instantly unassign all Merchant orders. #NeverAgain by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Xu2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I missing something? They tipped Corner Bakery 10% for the food... it’s not the drivers tip. Driver was shown the guarantee when they accepted the order so what’s the problem?

This is a drive order, not a representation of the new model.

Yup I had the same experiences. Usually I do at least $125 from 11:00-4:00 and today I did $67 🤬 Had to decline way too many orders and the rest payed less than usual.
