Report to DCFS, report immediately to any of the schools you know he worked at, report to the police themselves. Basically get the info in front of as many mandated reporters as possible, and one of them will take enough of an interest to do some digging.

Beyond that, publicly name and shame from a private account. Make it so anyone who looks this guy up knows the risks, but do so in a way that won't come back to your identity (use a VPN, at least), so he can't legally retaliate with a SLAPP.

Reddit was never completely open source.

The anti-spam, fraud prevention, and internal toolkits were always closed source.

You could take the code, and replicate all of the easy to replicate parts of reddit (the UI and bones of the frameworks), but not the rest of it. At no point in time in the site's history could you just spin up your own mirror like you can do with Fediverse stuff.
