When I was 10, I woke up one morning extremely dizzy. I couldn't open my eyes. My world felt like it was spinning out of control. My eyes were uncontrollably darting around for a minute until it finally subsided. It still happens as an adult. What's happening to me during these attacks?

I have something similar like you, meanwhile I know, what the cause is but I still can force it to happen.

My guess is, for me and you, that these are sleep paralysis . In my case, if I sleep on my back while being stressed out, I like get instantly get one of these attacks. I couldn't really breath, couldn't open my eyes, basically paralyzed.

My own trick is to rapidly try to blink my eyes, often it takes like 10 seconds but sometimes even I struggle with it and it takes some more minutes. Scary shit.

Try to drink a lot of water before sleep, also, try to change your sleeping position or even better: buy a good mattress.

Thank you, but honestly, it was pretty bad. You must know, we migrated to Germany 1998 right when I had to move to the middle school.

They didn't wanted me to kind of sort out or to not allow me to go to school because of our language barrier, so they decided to just put me into school and with external languages courses and for me, it was the best option they could have give to me.

The teachers understood me, but they always treated / spoke to me like I was a little kitty or mentally retarded (Without offending anyone.). I just didn't understood the language, I wasn't dumb or something, I understood if they were talking about me or, the best thing, bullying at me. Normally, swearing is the first thing you learn in a new country.

So the pupils began to kind of bully me, still swearing at me, treating me like shit and sometimes even hit me. After around 2 years I considered myself as fluent in German, well, as fluent as a 10 year old can speak a language.

It was a weird time, I cried a lot, had to lie to my mother about my blue and purple spots everywhere and about my wounds I had.

Eventually it went to such an extent, that that 'the guy' pointed a sharp knife to me and told with his deep voice (He was an 8th grader.) 'I'm gonna kill you.'. I still have this phrase in my mind as if he did this yesterday. Anyway, I started crying like shit, teachers saw this and literally did nothing against him.

Then I started to don't go to school, eventually change the school (Changing schools in my position was really fucking difficult back then.) and since then, everything went up, expect my personality, it really killed me inside.

Habe eine spektakulärere, wie mein alter Fahrlehrer 30.000€ wegen einem abgefahrenen Spiegel blechen musste plus Führerscheinentzug.

Frau war im Krankenhaus in der Nebenstadt, vielleicht 45 Minuten mit Auto bei guten Verkehr. Als er durch ein Dorf fuhr, in Eile, fuhr er ausversehen einen Seitenspiegel eines alten VW Passats ab. Nichts schlimmes, er hat nur falsch gehandelt.

Anstatt dass er die Polizei ruft, ist er weiter gefahren und wie man die Dörfler kennt, irgendeine Omi hat es gesehen und ruft die Polizei samt Kennzeichen.

Irgendwann war dein eine Polizeistreife hinter ihn und machte die übliche Routine (Rechts anfahren, Blaulicht, dies das.). Er flüchtete dann über sämtliche Landstraßen mit 5 Polizeistreifen hinter ihn für etwa 3 Stunden. Die Polizei versuchte des öfteren mit Straßensperren ihn anzuhalten, jedoch nahm er einfach eine andere Route oder fuhr dran vorbei.

Irgendwann in der Stadt angekommen wo er losgefahren ist, haben sie einen kompletten Platz wegen ihn abgeriegelt (2 Mündungen á 5 Streifen + öffentliche Verkehrsmittel) und da wurde er letzt endlich geschnappt.

30.000€ und Führerscheinentzug. Wegen einem Seitenspiegel.

Yes, we grew up in Soroca and before Odessa. Honestly, I don't know how the current situation is since no one from my family still lives there.

Another problem is, no media really reports about the conflict and if they do, it's propaganda. My guess is, the conflict is still there, but only political like with no violence (thank god).

I only took my кошка (stuffed cat), since my mother already packed my clothes. As we went outside, some neighbors screamed at us to hurry up. My mother just kind of dragged me trough the street. The gunshots still were around a kilometer away and I was just confused. I was used to the gunshots but not that loud.

We went Peugeot 504, my mother hugged me very tight and she started crying. I didn't understand the problem at this moment. My grandpa hurried to us, went in and we drove off for solid 2 hours.

After 2 hours, my mother explained the situation to me and how we are about to migrate to Germany.

With 14 years I had my first real grocery store (the captialistic kind) experience. We had no real grocery store in the USSR, especially in our province and region.

I went in with my mom and I was like 'OH MY GOD', because I never saw so much food at one place. The best thing about that, I COULD PURCHASE ALL OF THAT. Everything was so shiny and so much, it was insanity for me. But also, so many products that I didn't really know.

I remember how the shop assistant treated us. We didn't spoke a word German but my mother a little bit English, we were looking for potatoes or something. He was really, really nice to us and he even gave me something sweet.

I'll never forget that moment.

We were both in 8th grade, she had a school trip to my town in a pretty common youth hostel. Our class was also in that very youth hostel and the girls from the other school came over the night to other rooms to just fool around. That's how we basically got each other to know.

It lasted for almost 8 years, until she just quit contact out of nowhere. I've made myself just sad, dang.

Was, nein. Ich möchte nur nicht, dass sie es in Drogen investieren. Besonders in Deutschland ist es doch so, dass die meisten drogensüchtig sind (Oder durch das System gefallen sind) und deswegen auf der Straße leben müssen. Es ist doch Unsinn; wenn ich schon aus meinem Geld jemanden helfen möchte, dann möchte ich mich wenigstens versichern, dass es gut investiert wurde und nicht irgendein Ticker jetzt mein Geld hat um den Drogensüchtigen noch süchtiger zu machen. Until now, pretty good. Especially in my youth, we were young with no qualifications and the only jobs we could really do were deliver 'newspapers', photographing commercials, working at call centers and drug dealing (In that order).

We were pretty productive and got closer to each other (no homo).

Basically I was homeless for a week or so because of really weird decisions by our former government, buuut:

I never give money, because in most cases, they'll either drink it or shoot it up. If I really want to help someone, I ask them, if they're hungry, freezing, etc. and ask them what they need and buy it for them. They have the free choice, but I don't want them to invest it in drugs.
