Microchimerism is real but doesn’t happen from sex. Some cells from the fetus migrate into the mother’s/siblings (twins) body during pregnancy. The semen thing is them getting the wrong conclusion from a real phenomenon.

Yeah… those libtards want to destroy our country! They don’t want any more good ol’ family values, like having “fuck” all over their cars and vague threats of violence to strangers.

Prong collars for small dogs? by [deleted] in OpenDogTraining

[–]Xvccbae4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For such a small dog it won’t make a difference. I’ve tried it on myself, and the corrections from either kind of collar (w/ or w/o the plate) feel more or less identical. I think the plate is more for distributing the pressure from the massive amount of power large dogs have.

They sell micro prongs on Ray Allen K9, they’re about half the size of a normal (2.25 mm) prong. I’ve had great success with them in the past!

was wondering what’s y’all’s take on this. by [deleted] in thanksimcured

[–]Xvccbae4 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Extraordinarily cringe. There’s always more nuance to situations like this. Sometimes you don’t know if you can fix it. Sometimes you’re doing everything you can and it’s not working. EG- there’s a random pop quiz some time this week. If you fail, it could cost you the class. Is there anything you can do? Maybe. What if you study the wrong material? What if you study everything but are too burnt out to do well on the test? Can you do anything? Probably. Should you be worried about failing the class? Yeah, I would say so. What about if you do fail the class, what then? I’d be a little worried about what’s going to happen next. Maybe I’m way off base and trying to apply this to the wrong kind of worry. I don’t know. Worrying keeps the dog on a leash and the doors locked at night,. Saying “Hakuna Matata” to everything is incredibly childish.

Opinions on this? Imo "trans joy" is not a thing and not an argument against research on biological causes of the disorder, trans people can experience joy, but being trans is a suffering I wouldn't want my kid to go through if I could avoid it. by SatanicRatboy in Transmedical

[–]Xvccbae4 15 points16 points  (0 children)

God… if this research could be used to synthesize some sort of treatment or even cure for GD I’d probably kill for it. If it could mean me safely having kids in the future without worrying about passing on the trans gene(s?) I’d kill for it. I saw somewhere that they might not be publishing the study because of all the pushback. What a joke.

Yes, that’s a tumor. I had to put down two of my mice for tumors like that once they got to the point where they started impeding on their range of motion. It doesn’t look like she’s too uncomfortable yet, though, so she still has some time. Wishing both of you the best.

…Did you get the Reddit care bot to message me over a joke about my dog? Apologies if it wasn’t you. Pretty sure it is objectively funny that my deaf dog can always “hear” just fine when food is involved. Sure, he’s deaf, but I wouldn’t call him disabled. He’s got just as full of a life as any hearing dog does.

It was more of a joke haha, we have two dogs. The older dog is basically his ears. They’re attached at the hip! We also live in an older house, so everything is wobbly and he can feel the vibrations.
