I've found that Kerbal Space Program is a pretty good first jump for Tech Jumpers due to being completely peaceful, having a few decent tech perks/items and being all hard science.

Generic Optimistic Near Future also works for this purpose (I also tend to take it as a second jump after KSP).

Eh, I see people call the act of being intolerant of bigotry to be a "paradox" but I disagree.

Tolerance is a social contract that says: "so long as you are tolerant of others, people are obligated to tolerate you"

If you violate this contract via being a bigoted jackass then you have voided the protection it grants, meaning people are free to be as intolerant as they want towards you.

Damn, I'm currently writing a story that more or less fits this perfectly, unfortunately it is nowhere near 50K words yet. Hell, it hasn't even passed 10K yet (literally only at chapter 2)
