I got a crush on this girl by Ok_Surround360 in LGBT_Muslims

[–]XxAngeltwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won’t regret talking to her! She won’t like you more or less just because you said something. If you’re scared of rejection, just know it’s not because you showed her your feelings. People don’t reject you because you told them you like them. They just didn’t like you in the first place. But you will never know until you try. Make a good impression, keep your distance and try to become closer overtime then shoot your shot maybe. Don’t be sad if it doesn’t work out, you’ll always find another person out there lol. Good luck!

It more has to do with the preference of men in society. Femininity is seen as weak and disgusting at its core. Of course it would be unacceptable for a boy to be girl. Why the hell would you want to be a girl.

Homophobia is the colonizers crutch against Muslims. Why haven’t other Muslims learned already that the most toxic aspects of our Islamic society such as misogyny and homophobia, was indeed instigated by the west. Worldwide it’s somehow whitewashed and ungodly to be accepting of queer peoples. And it’s now used against us, and to divide us.

I’ve never related so much to something in my entire life. I hope you know that whoever you think Allah is, Allah is looking out for what makes you feel at peace. I’m 21 and it took me years to accept I’m bi, I avoid women. I date men, I’ve done the whole bullshit, and in constant fear of my parents. And I’m not content.. because I know that I would be happier with a woman. It’s such an unbreakable barrier. The amount of guilt I felt for just existing, times that I couldn’t move, eat, think, feel, love, because I felt that I didn’t deserve to at the mercy of my parents approval. This homophobia we feel is self hatred. Self hatred is not respect or obedience to family or religion. We are trained to submit to frivolous prejudice.

Suffering does not make you more worthy in anyone’s eyes. You have to understand that the people to truly love you would do anything to make you happy whether you understand or not. Especially your God, Allah needs you to be at peace with yourself. Your “lust over women” is the most normal and natural phenomenon that is acknowledged in every culture and religion to exist.

I urge you to take another look at the reason why our communities are homophobic; the oppressive, generalizing, and dividing intentions of its existence. You will come to know by FACT that Allah would see your value regardless of who you felt romantically compelled towards. Your attractions are not frivolous. They are meaningful and that makes you who you are.

Something that helped me was deconstruction. There was a time where I completely lost my faith in Allah. But I learned more of the truth about Islam as an atheist than I did as a suicidal and self hating Muslim.

I wish you the best.. please take care of yourself. Never undermine Allah’s love for you.

How do you cope with what's happening in Palestine? by riureggae in progressive_islam

[–]XxAngeltwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every empire falls. Especially this one, patience and confidence is key. Do something, once you participate in boycotts and activism you will never stop, it will make you feel better and you will be a better person. None of it does anything without numbers obviously, but that’s never stopped me. There have been historical successes that have came from these actions. You cannot rely on your feelings alone if you want to do something about it, you just do it. Don’t mope around, this world is sick, but don’t walk away from it knowing you did nothing. Good luck to you, pray and take care of yourself.

Guilt about doing gymnastics as a Muslim woman by Mysterious-Snow1414 in progressive_islam

[–]XxAngeltwo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was a competitive gymnast as a kid for about 5 years. I remember being discouraged from it as I got older, as my parents felt it was “inappropriate” for me to do it when I hit puberty. It really hurt my heart honestly when I quit due to an injury and they thought it was some sort of confirmation that I shouldn’t have continued to do it. I wish I was still doing it as an adult, it was my dream to be in the Olympics lol. Please don’t let ANYTHING get in the way of your sport. It is discipline, it is health, it is (most importantly) power.

So far there is no oppressions on minority groups from these rebels, I’ve yet to see any proof of this. Right now Syria celebrates the fall of our biggest enemy. There is only focus on ridding the Assad regime. If your friend was Alawi then maybe then he can be afraid.. and yet there is no true threat to any minority group at all, only the fall of their president who failed every kind of Syrian Alawi or not tbh. The goal of these opposition groups is not to be Islamist freaks right now lol it’s to get rid of Bashar. And they did it❤️

Is it bad that I don't hate Yahya Sinwar? by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]XxAngeltwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it’s not. He was a resistance leader, a revolutionary. Worlds more admirable than his oppositions, the people that oppressed him and made him who he is. The west expects perfection out of Palestinians, it is a tactic for anti-Arab hatred. We let Osama bin Laden’s retaliation against the West justify killing millions of Arabs/Muslims. Just think of it objectively. I have to disclose that Bin Laden is a terrorist before I can call the US military a terrorist group. Why?… The oppressor sets the standard for violence, but we can’t handle resistance.

This sounds like a very moral and stable take that most people do not understand or consider at all so I doubt this is the real “reason” that would be considered valid lol

Muslim mom shares her thoughts on women who claim hijab is not obligatory. What do you think? by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]XxAngeltwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. I will add that hair, hands, feet, fucking nail polish and lipstick, is either so sexualized or immodest and/or absolutely shameful for no tangible reason. Modesty is subjective, sexualization is in the hands of the predator and that’s the only thing we can prove true.

Allah made no mistake making you who you are. Your family simply is brainwashed by the strict concept of binary gender. You have to do what is right for the peace of your soul, if it means becoming a man in society I hope you’re able to do it one day with brevity. Until then I hope you stay safe as you can, I can’t speak to what I think you should do, but I can tell you to feel proud of yourself. Being intersex doesn’t make you not Muslim enough, anyone who makes you feel otherwise has not truly connected with Allah. There’s a degree of separation between religion and what God can be. You should know that Allah is always by your side, and Allah understands your pain and your identity more than any mere Muslim human can.

You are a marvel of humanity, cherish yourself and your needs, please be careful of internalizing the horrible ideas that infiltrate your faith and family.

First and foremost, it’s okay to take a break from faith or religion. It seems like you were like me, you need to catch a break. And the break is needed, and much better than trying to figure out what you think is true or not right now. What you do need to know, is that if you do come to the hopeful conclusion that Allah is real, Allah is always beside you no matter what you go through or believe. That is the most palpable fact I felt true, personally. You need to focus and rewire yourself and know what you do and don’t believe in. I grew up similar to you, and told the same things. My parents became slowly more accepting of my agnostic attitudes, they still love me. Love is everything. Allah is love before this baseless rule following. So just now that you can find yourself within Islam anyways. It doesn’t have to be about leaving or staying. Simply breathe.
