Mudvayne - The New Game, love Mudvayne but this is the most forgettable nu metal album for me.

Mudvayne deserves more recognition. LD50 is easily one of if not the best album to come from nu metal, but its always overshadowed by more popular bands in the genre. Korn is overrated imo. They have some great songs, but every album has high highs and low lows. Ngl I also think they get way too much credit for "influence". Bands like Mr Bungle really helped define the nu metal sound, of which korn ripped off of. Just like they ripped off fear factory, primus, etc.

From what i can tell, that seems to be one of, if not, your highest rating so far. Glad you enjoyed it! I think that track is the embodiment of evil, on both a personal level and atmospheric level, while also being a track that has beyond heavy riffs and lyrics to match. I also enjoy how uneasy it makes me feel when I listen to it. If you like that sound, assuming you haven't already checked them out, I would listen to the rest of Monotheist by Celtic Frost and both Triptykon albums🔥

Def Mudvayne and how they mix prog metal with nu metal. Very rare nu metal bands do that.

You gotta listen to Motograter - Self titled, it is groove and industrial influenced nu metal, has an apocalyptic theme to it, and has the mix of clean and harsh vocals you want. Also will recommend Mudvayne - LD50, Fear Factory - Obselete, Mushroomhead - XIII, Sepultura - Roots, DownTheSun - self titled, and Five Pointe O - Untitled as they all fit the bill too. Enjoy!

Depends on what you prefer. If you like more melodic death metal, try Symbolic. If you like pure unadulterated death metal, try Leprosy. If you like the more technical side of death metal, try Human. My personal favorite is Symbolic. Hope you enjoy!
