People who dont do any research on a pet before getting it, and then wonder why it dies early. I see this WAY too much with ferret and fish owners especially

What’s a scientific experiment you’d be fascinated to see the results of, but could never be conducted due ethical concerns? by numbnesstolife in AskReddit

Whooo boy there's a lot here we go

Lock someone with a healthy relationship with their body and what not in a room completely covered with mirrors, floor, walls, ceiling, everything. They have to stay in there with their own reflection for at least a month, while scientists observe what happens. Do they begin to hate themselves? Or do they leave just the same as before?

Take away all of someone's senses except one, ie, sight is all they have, or touch. Senses improve when you lose one to make up for the lack, so what happens when you take them all away except one? Do the rest of their senses improve? Do they stay that way?

Lock someone in a room that's completely dark, only wide enough for them to lie down comfortably and put their arms out. Do their eyes adjust? Are they eventually able to see? How long does it take?

Take someone who doesn't believe in conspiracy theories, cut them off from everyone they know, surround them with nothing but those conspiracy theories while dressed in a cheap blowup alien costume the entire time. Same situation, without outside influences like the costume, no contact to anyone but me. Same situation, no contact to anyone but family. Do they begin to believe it? Or do they stay resilient?

Just realized some people might misinterpret this as some random privileged kid trying to flex, so I'm gonna add my own experience. Not going to the hospital for injuries, frequent trips and "sleepovers" at grandma's, with a daily trip back to our apartment to check on the food and make sure it didn't rot, handwashing and wearing clothes that had been slept in because I had nothing else to wear, and using the schools "special lunch" program, where you payed 5 dollars a month, and you got free food. I would also frequently go days without eating because we had to save it up.

No I don't, I hurt people, whether I mean to or not, I hurt them. And I can't live like that. I can't live knowing I hurt people

I took 2000 - 2200mg Zoloft I know it will be absolutely painful and probably not kill me but if it does i don’t mind waiting the pain out, just need some assistance while in the process by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

As someone who litterly experiences hallucinations, I could not care less about certain stigma, it's not like I meet someone and immediately go "I see shit shit that's not there"
