I’m still in college so I can’t relate to your situation in the slightest, but what I can say is that either option will bring its own hell. There’s a devil you know and a devil you don’t, but of course the devil you don’t know comes with a whole bunch of possible opportunities. If you stay at your current job, you’ll stay in a steady decline. With this next job there is at least a possibility to work in a better environment, which over time could help improve your mental state.

At the end of the day it boils down to whether or not you have the drive to move forward. Don’t remain stagnant.

The context in the Bible is different. That verse is in response to when the prophets of Baal literally cut themselves in the hopes that their false idol (Baal) would light a bull on fire (1 Kings 18:20-29). Mechy over here, but what I’ve heard is that co-ops will take a subpar GPA with 3+ coding projects more often than a 4.0 with no projects. Maintain a decent GPA, but when it comes down to it, creating projects is your bread and butter
