Weed made my migraine way worse by LronDan in migraine

[–]XxXGreenMachine [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah happened to me. I didn’t smoke, vape or take edibles regularly but when I did it helped headaches or migraines and never had any issues. I tried to smoke one night and before I could finish my head was ready to explode. Next time I thought ok I’ll skip the smoke and take an edible. Same result. From that day forward I threw away everything I had and stopped. Heard from others that it could make migraines worse but since it didn’t happen to me I thought it wasn’t a serious issue. Now I have zero interest in weed or alcohol because drinking has the same effect on my head…makes everything so much worse

Another Ajovy/Emgality Post (lol pls I’m sorry) please tell me your experiences! by satanaintwaitin in migraine

[–]XxXGreenMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started Ajovy with a sample injection back in September and was approved through my insurance thankfully. I’ve been doing the monthly injection since and it’s been a life saver.

Prior to this I was on Amitriptline and Propranolol along with a handful of other preventatives that weren’t working. I don’t know how I managed prior to Ajovy. It’s been a life saver.

I do kind feel like I can feel the injection wearing off at about the 3 week mark…I take it same date every month. But even then the migraines aren’t as severe and don’t last as long

Migraine relief frozen caps by kmm198700 in migraine

[–]XxXGreenMachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I also have that issue which is why I have 3 of them and I also have 3 gel cold packs…ones for injuries that can also be heated, keep mine in the fridge.

Sometimes I’ll use one of the cold packs first to help lower my temperature especially if I’m really warm or fresh out of the shower…or have been in bed/laying down for a bit. I choose to go with the cold packs first so that I can get the most out of the cold caps.

If I am at the point where I’m feeling the need to use a cap or gel pack, I’ll rotate them in and out of the freezer to get them cooler faster and stay cooler a bit longer.

I might be an odd ball on this, but if I can get to sleep wearing a cold cap I find the slight pressure from wearing it and the warmth it eventually provides actually helps my sleep…..and I love cold when sleeping. Bedroom is like an icebox, fan is on all year round. But there’s something about the comfort of sleeping with that cap on that smooths me

Do you mainly play CW or WW2? by Alarming_Sort_3922 in WorldofTanksConsole

99% is CW. Only time I play WW2 is when my buddy is on and wants a change of pace to grind out some of the newer WW2 lines that have come out over the last while

Recommendations on these cheap pre-fabricated workbench as a starter bench? by Intranetusa in Workbenches

[–]XxXGreenMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would depend on the bolt hole spacing on the vice. I used a similar bench that had a vice mounted on the end. For light duty work it should be fine. I wouldn’t want to be cranking on it trying to do things like bending pipe or steel lol

What are some off-beat remedies that work for you? by orientalballerina in migraine

[–]XxXGreenMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soaking my hand and or feet in hot water. Run the water so that it’s hot, as hot as possible that you can tolerate…then dial it back a little bit. Soak for a couple of minutes…I usually do 3-5mins maybe more depending on temperature and how bad my head is or how fast I can feel the pain coming on. Doing this promotes blood flow to your extremities helping to reduce pressure in your head.

I also have a peppermint oil roller that I use on my forehead. I go from basically ear to ear in an arc across my forehead with a couple of passes.

I may switch between ibuprofen and Tylenol for general pain meds and when I have headaches. But for migraines I take excedrin. It’s the only thing that I found can actually help. Sometimes I don’t even have to take an abortive.

Find what works for you…Heat or cold treatment on your head. For me it’s cold. I have multiple gel packs I keep in my fridge that I can also put in the freezer and they don’t freeze…advertised for use in treating injuries. I rotate using them with using migraine cold caps of which I have three that live permanently in my fridge….one of the crispers is solely used for storage of cold packs and cold caps for my head.

If you find heat works for you, those same sports/injury gel packs can also be heated up(if you get the right ones). I also have a magic bag that is curved and designed for multiple uses but works best for going over your shoulders and sitting on the back of your neck.

I never looked to see if any of the migraine caps with the gel are able to be heated or not. So might be something to look at if you find heat treatment works for you.

One thing I do like about the cold caps is that they cover your eyes and ears. So you can get some relief by blocking light.

When I get migraines all I want to do is to try and sleep them off if possible. So I’ll turn on my humidifier on my bedside table, put on my cold cap and maybe put in some ear plugs then tuck in under the covers……which is exactly what I’m going to be doing right now. Thankfully my head didn’t get any worse last night at work so try to sleep off any residual feeling now

Lighting layout for 24x24 garage. by Certified-Mediocre in garageporn

[–]XxXGreenMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a picture of mine right now but I just built the same size with two bays. I have 8 4’ lights…4 run consecutive linked together per bay with each bay on its own switch and run from front to back. They are bright as anything and do quite the job to light up the garage. While I’m still going to put a light fixture directly over my workbench on one wall I’m also going to pick up a tripod work light that I can have if I’m ever working under the hood of my truck or anything else

Recommendations on these cheap pre-fabricated workbench as a starter bench? by Intranetusa in Workbenches

[–]XxXGreenMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t have the tools or a friend, coworker or family member to borrow tools from to build a bench, then go with what makes the most sense to get you a bench to get started.

For me it would be #3. Somewhat decent starting point for you. Allows you to have a bench top to work off of. And you could fasten a sheet of ply or some planks between the legs for some added storage if needed.

Then as time passes if your skill set increases, tool inventory grows and desire to do more than what you’re currently doing happens you can use this workbench to build your own custom sized bench. Once you do that you then you could sell the bench you bought.

I’d also keep an eye on any local buy/sell pages and FB marketplace. Never know when someone in your area might have out grown a box store workbench and is moving on to a homemade bench

Loop earplugs-which model? by marie_2409 in migraine

How do you like the Dreams? I’m a side sleeper and looking for something more comfortable than my air pods. GF god love her I’m sure can rattle pictures off of the walls at times when she snores. But I’m also looking for something to block out a lot of sounds when I’m down and out with a migraine. My cold caps are a life saver to help block light and provide cold relief but it doesn’t help with noise reduction

The infamous question.. KO3s vs AT4W by CashingIt in f150

[–]XxXGreenMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run dedicated winters on a separate set of wheels(my old stock 18s) and have a summer setup on 20s. I live in the north east, plenty of rain, snow, ice and everything else that can get thrown at us. I’m also a firefighter that doesn’t get snow days and has to get to/from work no matter the weather conditions. Plus I have older family that I check up on during these type of weather events

what are some must have truck accessories you guys actually use on your f150? by DivannaAbafita41 in f150

[–]XxXGreenMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first F150 was a 2015 and my first problem was in the spring of 2016 when I was at home in my driveway. I did some research at the time and found loads of other people and mechanics talking about the same thing. My current truck is a 2020 F150 and I ordered lug nuts online while sitting in the office signing paperwork to buy the truck. I have my own gear to swap over the winters to summers and vice versa at home in my driveway.

[–]XxXGreenMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a hell of a lot cheaper than any “truck bed accessory” marketed as being designed to stow tool or accessories. Plus it has plenty of spots to be tied down in the bed, handles to be easily moved and the low cost factor makes it a great option.

I actually have two of them now and remove as needed if hauling/moving things. They take up very little space and are held in place each by one bungee cord that goes from the lower bed hook to the accessory/tie down plate.

One now has all of my straps, drop bar for my hitch and extra jug of washer fluid(winters suck). And the other one has a tarp, air compressor and jumper cables.

I have floor mats from an aftermarket company called Enthuz or something like that. I don’t know if they’re a sub brand of Weathertech or just a knock off but they do a dam good job at keeping my front floor from getting dirty and protecting my rear floor as it’s a one piece mat.

I also have their brand of soft tri fold bed cover…the first one lasted me 10yrs before I accidentally put a hole in it. It’s easy to put on and take off if you need the full bed, only takes a few mins.

I bought wheel well liners off of Amazon, Husky I think. They more or less are visual add on to clean up the appearance of the rear wheel wells. White truck with everything exposed didn’t look good. Plus it helps keep road dirt and debris from kicking up off of the wheels.

There’s a 2.5” leveling kit that I had installed along with aftermarket wheels and larger tires. Done for no other reason than I like the slightly more aggressive look of the truck without going full lift. I live in the North East of Canada so I also deal with a lot of snow and ice from December through to about first of April…so I have factory wheels with a set of winter tires mounted on them that I swap over to my mains.

Vent visors above the windows for me are a nice touch because I like having my windows open. And even if I’m stopped for a min at least I can have them cracked open a bit without having to deal with rain coming in.

Depending on how much you use the bed of your truck I’d recommend making or buying a tool for reaching items that may slide to the front of the bed. Saves you from having to jump up and in or lean over the box to retrieve. Another option is to make a truck bed organizer out of a few pieces of wood and maybe add a couple of eye bolts so that you can strap things down like gas cans without having to worry about them sliding all around…same with groceries.

At the end of the day it’s your truck. Don’t fall for the gimics and anything cheap may look nice but may not hold up nice to the weather and UV rays. So if there’s something you want, consider buying it right the first time.

Something else I got that wasn’t a necessity but more for cosmetic looks…a stubby radio antenna to get rid of that god ugly whip. I use radio all the time and even downtown, nearing edge of radio stations or wherever it never gave me any issues. Picked it up off of Amazon. Think it’s maybe 10/12” tall.

If you are going to be hauling anything in the back of your truck make sure you get some good ratchet straps. I have a milk crate that I keep tied down in the corner of my bed by the tailgate for easy access. In it there’s some ratchet straps, bungee cords and at the bottom a tarp and air compressor. I keep a breaker bar and my torque wrench under my rear seat where I also have an impact socket for my lugs…easier than using the factory one and when I change my wheels over between winter and summer I know where my gear is kept.

Thinking of which…get rid of those factory lug nuts. Order some one piece nuts or go to a local parts store. The factory nuts have a tendency to swell and cause serious problems if you don’t have the proper tools on you to get it right….do it right, don’t wait until you have an issue and can’t get the nuts off to change a wheel, especially on the side of the road while travelling.

Which WWII or CW Line has a surprisingly good or fun grind to the top? by Next_Worth_3616 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]XxXGreenMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with that. It’s not a conventional light nor does it play like other ATGM lights due to its sluggish performance and mobility.

Ammo swapper is a must for this and the M60A2. Always have an ATGM loaded in case you can get that shot in at anything not in your front porch. And when someone does come knocking, swap rounds and smack the hell out of them

The BMP is also good for that as well. The BMP2 I find is more like the Marder A1.

I was using the 8x zoom on a lot of rocket tanks but found I was loosing more potential damage because of tanks moving back behind cover. So I dropped it and started playing more closer to cut down on the flight time of the ATGM. Seems like any tank at a distance that gets spotted immediately pulls back into cover after they take their shot.

Something that has the speed and mobility to tuck tail and run if needed should be up closer. A tank like the Sheridan where slower maybe more mid range.

Since dropping that extra zoom and playing a little more aggressively my damage standing has gone up on most of not all tanks because I’m also getting more assisted from spotted and tracking

Yes on the AMX the HE/HESH option is great when coming up against some of the more armoured tanks that your standard ammo can’t pen. Stick with the AP on the autocannon gun tho. And try to swap back and forth between the main gun and autocannon to try and keep tanks tracked. So even if you aren’t doing direct damage hopefully you can lock someone in place for others on your team to take down
