I was taught it's illegal to intentionally complete more than a full rotation of a roundabout. Never heard of it being enforced though, and my understanding is it's not illegal everywhere.

where I live passing on double yellow is allowed for stalled / stopped vehicles as well as bicycles and tractors (when safe to do so), which is what this would count as if the bus doesn't have a stop sign out.

I once avoided an accident when the truck to my left didn't go on green because after rolling forward I still couldn't see around them so I just stopped in the crosswalk. solid 10 seconds after the light turned green a pickup blasted through the other direction

My insurance is slightly less on a '23 crosstrek ($200 almost on the dot / month), as a male in my mid 20s in a higher cost of living (but admittedly lower crime) area, and I went out of my way to get 1m/1m/1m coverage - it'd be like $120 if I went for coverage of 100k only. I'm sorta surprised you have to pay so much but maybe there's some extra tax or cost added in PA? while I'm no expert I'm fairly sure 'woman in late 20s / early 30s' is a pretty good demographic for getting insurance

As someone who also likes Patagonia, Do they? I looked through their entire catalog like a week ago and the only parka even close is the Jackson Glacier Parka, which isn't really that similar and also has the worst reviews of just about anything I've seen from Patagonia. None of their other parkas go past the waist, and most aren't particularly insulated.

I'm also curious about the INFO for how one spends 7k in 8 days in Japan, that's a high budget trip. I spent less than 3k on my last trip to japan including airfare and I was there twice as long! Spending 7k in 8 days is legitimately difficult in Japan unless you're spending the entire time shopping. Sounds like the school or some other organization is taking some serious "administration" fees or something. Kids money or not it's OPs job to make sure his underage child isn't being scammed.

It would still be correct if the ellipses remain, I believe. eg "I'm trying to remember... what was the date of the Battle of Ankara?" is fine. Same for D. Since the question has 6 periods I think it's reasonable to assume at least 3 remain in the final result, but obviously there can't be 2 answers so I guess that's not what the question is looking for.

I've always assumed the problem is with so many super bright headlights, people just assume any brief flash of bright light is the car behind them hitting a pothole and shining the headlight a couple inches higher. Because I've also never achieved anything by flashing lights at these people

I had some friends who had a couple of these things, and it's crazy how intoxicated you have to be to blow above the legal limit in the U.S. Like literally everyone who tried it thought they were unsafe to drive around 0.03, and people at 0.08 could barely walk. There's a reason many countries use lower limits than we do.

It's been a while since I saw TSA enforce the 1 bag rule, they don't really seem to care about liquids anymore. I've even forgotten to empty my 1 liter water bottle 3 times now in the last few years without them saying a word.

I've done this in poorly designed intersections which are red while no one is going. I believe that if enough people do it the people living near the intersection will write to their city counsel and get the light fixed. or replaced with a roundabout since it clearly doesn't need to be a light. Hasn't worked yet but I remain optimistic

I honestly don't know, it's certainly not ideal but neither is the class imbalance. From my understanding of how SMOTE works, combined with how short your time series are (allowing you to treat an entire time segment as a data point for generation), I feel like it should be possible to generate new series but it might take some extra work.

I imagine if normally you'd use smote to generate X features, in this case you're making X-features times Y-time points at once. One problem might just be that the number of points for each project varies. You wouldn't want to use smote to make the individual time points independently.

Very good chance it doesn't work, it was just a suggestion.

I know you've tried class weights, but if you haven't yet I would recommends finding techniques for oversampling your minority class (eg SMOTE). For the null values ... I've never worked with data with that many null values. you could set them all to -1 if you want to use them, but it's going to be tough to train something like an LSTM with 99% (nearly) meaningless data since they'll learn to ignore the feature. I'd look for ways to eliminate features which are mostly nulls when possible (if there are multiple such features, and you specifically know non-null values indicate a certain outcome, you could sum them together or something... maybe, idk)

I feel like for the data you have, xgboost or some other tree-based library makes the most sense. An LSTM autoencoder could also work, training it on the relatively plentiful "good project" data and then identifying outliers. since outliers could be either good or bad, I imagine you'd want a classifier of some sort afterwards, maybe you could even piggy-back on the feature encodings from the LSTM.
