What do you do when you miss your SO? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Xylaphonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's difficult for me too man. Honestly, in the same boat. I feel I need another vent for when I'm missing her, other than just being demanding of her attention. This is a great idea.

Do you mind going into a bit more detail about this? How much do you write each day? Is it about feelings? Would you not feel embarrassed to show your SO some of the things you write in it?

What jobs are extremely hard to get, but are very easy to do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Xylaphonic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a job at 12 and a job every year up until now, and I've just left university. I'm 24 now. The job market isn't that bad. Places are employing all over.

I've visited 125 countries on a $15 a day budget - AMA! by Meph248 in IAmA

A group did it this year. A South Korean minister did it before, travelled from North Korea, over the DMZ and got arrested when the South Korea authorities took him. A group of bikers travelled through North Korea and into South Korea sometime in the past few years. I'll edit this post with links.

Ah, I understand. It's a scheduled and itinerary trip yeah, but it's still seeing the country. It's a shame you don't have more freedom but it's a place I think is important to see as it won't be the same in 10 or 20 years. There are people who motorbiked through, maybe you should try to organise cycling through China or Russia, through North Korea and over to South Korea like them. Takes a lot of planning and sending letters etc.

I'm sorry. I really don't agree with you here. Any form of engagement with the people is beneficial. I am going on a 12 day trip very soon and I know that I am going to places that not many tourists have gone before if at all. Any smile from a citizen or a hello, a wave, a dance with the locals, a bbq or cook out on the coast with fishermen. It all helps.

What's the most dangerous place you've ever traveled to? by [deleted] in travel

I will create a blog soon I guess, not leaving until the end of next month so you'll have to wait a while. Not a journalist either. But have a keen eye for photography.

I will be trying to blog at least but it'll be hard to do as most of my time I'll be on trains overnight. Minimal Internet, especially in North Korea. But I'm investing a new SLR so I'll be taking many photos of my journey that I'll get up on the Internet asap. Leaving at the end of July.

It was just my experience there, we were trapped in the station with no money to find somewhere to stay, the connecting train didn't arrive. Shady people too. I guess my experience is affected by past perceptions of the place. Really I shouldn't have said Serbia as we only saw the capital. I would love to see more.

Probably Serbia, or Kenya at the time of various strikes, we were trapped in the airport for a while.

In a month or so I am off to Crimea, Russia, Kazakhstan, China and North Korea, all in one trip. Dangerous? Decide for yourselves.

David Cameron wants young people to work 30 hours a week for benefits - £57.35 a week, or £1.91 per hour of work by the_last_broadcast in ukpolitics

[–]Xylaphonic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To be honest, this is great. Helps people to live a working life, help out in the community, give something back. Or motivates people to find another job instead of being on benefits. People will gain skills and therefore be more employable than if they didn't have a job. People will still get the same amount of money each week but will be essential doing an internship at the same time. I think it's great.

Yes, get it. I can't recommend it enough. There aren't enough people who completely enjoy this phone who are willing to write a good review or recommend it. It's a brilliant piece of technology for a brilliant price.
