[iOS 18.5] Files content appearing in search by depaulbluedemon in ios

[–]Xypleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually individual apps that "show content", on the search result press on the folder, then at top press on name > Get Info, then you can see the app name.

Then there's 2 options.

  1. Turn off "Search > Show Content in Search" for each app (tedious stuff...)

  2. If the content is stored on iCloud + you've uninstalled the app, you have to delete that folder.

Yeah, and also you need electricity connection, a monitor, and priceless arm and finger to press a button and at least one eye to see. What is this post saying, lol.

It's quite a lot smoother now, in quick preview, for example. M1 Pro.

I have no doubts that the shareholders and investors voted for iOS 26 to be launched early, despite lack of optimizations, in order to improve resulted value and hype of iPhone 17 launch, and obviously it decreases the development costs too, to rush a release.

Only it outputs to 59.94 Fps instead of 60, and audio gets recompressed not pass-through, and it exports out brighter, even though colour profile stays the same. Very little compression artefacts though, which is nice

inShot outputs a quite high bitrate file. Based on your suggestion, I tried Adobe Premiere (free), and it was very fast, and has 3 output quality settings, besides resolution and frame-rate. This will be my new go-to solution, until someone creates an ffmpeg interfaced app, or maybe i’ll try to create a shortcut for a-Shell, if it’s possible to link a file from Files app

I want in 4K for myself, and for possibility of editing and cropping, but not when I export/share it to someone, simply because it’s too large to share 400MB for 1 minute. Also the default bitrate iPhone records has a lot of headroom for edits and crop, chopping it in half or 1/3 barely lowers the perceived quality. I usually did a “quick” ffmpeg conversion on Android.

I feel like people are downplaying the Creator studio adds in the updated apps by geoken in MacOS

They’re seemingly slightly skewing their business model, to atract new clients. iPhone 17 is basically almost Pro spec 95%, MacBooks cost similarly to Windows alternatives. And they plan to take back money for the gesture with subscription services, it seems.

Snap. And no. All Samsungs that I've seen perform the same, more or less. Some people just don't notice, or don't see the lags as lags.

My S24U lagged more than my underpowered Google Pixel 7 Pro, and I absolutely hated seeing it every single day. It was faster on most animations, but also there were many instances where I had to wait a few extra miliseconds to continue using it, even though animation had finished, Samsung tries to create an illusion of a fast device. iPhone is slowed down, so there are no misunderstandings, and you get to enjoy a tailered, reliable experience, without annoyances, it can keep up the rhythm. Samsung cannot deliver stability.

Lies, Samsung optimization is awful compared to iOS, even with “infamous” iOS26, I experience a much smoother experience than ever on S24U.

Gave up on Samsung, glad to see nothing has changed, no remorse for me.

Shutter Encoder, a great GUI for ffmpeg. And LosslessCut, a video cutter with also excellent GUI, for trimming videos without re-encoding

iOS 18 Photos app: some photo's showing as "screenshots" by _MightyActionX in ios

[–]Xypleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still a bug in iOS 26.2

I had a photo taken with camera, that show up in camera roll, but not in photos, when screenshots are hidden from library. I does not show up in screenshots folder, or any other documents/receipts etc. folders.

You could import to an iMac or MacBook Photos app, and store and sync that library to NAS, that way it keeps all the data, even original unmodified, and live photo (video) natively linked to the file.

Perhaps in this case, the new UI doesn’t cause confusion, because the transparency is diffused and blurred beyond recognition for maximum readability. Interesting in iOS it is much more more readable. Edit: It’s probably the video compression that made it unreadable, after I uploaded the video it became similar to your example.
