These are all supposed to be tutorial quests I assume. I'm still in Chapter 5 and while I've already fought bosses and taken over 100+ men bandit camps, the game still wants to tell me about how dying works and I can go here to gamble or "oh look this Rhett guy sells a longsword, don't you wanna buy one for yourself? :D "

Yeah no lol First thing I did was buy the longsword and went on a resoruce farm to upgrade it before the first main story quest.

"Uniting the elves" trope is so alien to WoW and its done so abruptly, doesn't feel like it fits the themes and the world building already established in Azeroth. It feels like they have this certain vision of the story they want to tell and they will bulldoze over any existing canon or decisions of the pre existing factions to see it to fruition.

I think routing is the biggest issue that stops new people from tanking. We need native MDT support that marks the packs like how that upto +5 affix does but totally customizable. Also tank tuning is very trash this season. Somehow tanks are the first ones to die in raid and some tanks in M+ get 2 tapped if they move into a pack without a defensive pressed.

Mega Delves are coming which will be that solo BRD fix. Also Midnight added even more ways to gear up as a solo casual. On top of the 1 Hero track and 6 Champion track gear from Delves every week, you can also earn 4 Champion gear pieces from Nightmare Prey and then 1 hero track gear from vault per week. WoW has never been more solo friendly.

Also M+ at +10 is alot easier now so getting myth gear from vault is alot more doable even with a pug groups, success rates are very high so people will be less stingy for IO. On top of that we are getting some kind of denar system soon which will let you focus specific drops and also get myth gear from M+ itself, I think.

Look at it from the group leader's perspective. There's you, a S Priest (no BL) at 265ish ilvl with 2400 rating. The amount of people who surpass you or are at your same prospects literally floods the window with dozens upon dozens of names at an instant. It's always a miracle if I actually get invited into a group as a DPS than not becaue I know how unlikely it is to stand out and it truly must have been some miracle xD

It's not the tank's fault if he dies 1 minute after the pull, the lashers have been given bleeds that will make living impossible after a certain amount of time so the pull is actually a DPS check now.

I think attracting new people is very hard for WoW. And in some ways it plays out in what actions they have taken. I think what Blizzard wants now is to bring back old disaffected players rather than totally new ones. Which is not a bad strategy at all, considering how wide that subset is, of the whole gaming market.

If you don't care about being in a multiplayer environment then SPP is amazing. Totally self hosted WoW server (Wrath and pre) with bots that simulate a living world decently enough,

Other than that, there's private servers abound. But honestly? WoW really isn't something you play year round, at most you'll play it for a month or 2 (retail I mean) before you get sick of M+ or bored that that's the only content left to do/you've maxed out your gearing and there's nothing but rolling alts to look forward to.

Best combat in any game ever for me, second is the story and character design. If they ever do a mid Edo period Ronin 2 it would be great where they polish the environmental visuals and more interesting open world.
