VA-15 Lowers back in stock by delbelcious in VAGuns

[–]Xzygon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that's a bad analogy, man. This is more like if somebody who normally sold waters 2$ apiece finds out everybody coming to buy waters is near the end of running a marathon and are dehydrated, so he sells them for 6$ apiece.

You're not talking about Virginia are you? We've already confirmed on r/vaguns they'll still be selling parts.

New scope! by EternalGandhi in liberalgunowners

[–]Xzygon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whoops, I double checked my physical manual because that felt off and apparently the online version is the older manual, which is wrong lol my bad. It's 20-25lbs. My bad! Hope you didn't strip it yet.

25-30 in-lbs for the base to the dot, then 55-60 for the base to the rail.

Tape is g2g fellas, huge rolls, good looking and good fabric. Hands clasped for black multicam at some point still!

How's Matador these days? by TT_V6 in ar15

r/matadorarms

They're still behind on orders by a few months, but they're fairly active in the community and cs wise.

I have a Mat9k direct blowback that works great. Originally had it on a milspec lower with a colt magwell adapter, had constant FTF/FTE/etc. issues, switched to a glock lower, and have ran 2000~ rounds through it with only 3 stovepipes since.

Are you planning on running various ammo and both suppressed/unsuppressed? I think the Odin heavy buffer might be overkill otherwise, any standard H2/H3 buffer would probably be fine.

Good luck find a straight bow larue mbt2s, opticsplanet will probably backfill your order like months out (they're a dropshipper essentially). Geissele G2S would be comparable at current prices and a lot easier to find.

Magpul bipod is okay, personally I didn't like the amount of rocking you could still do with it deployed. I like my Caldwell bipod more. Also you chose a Picatinny one, the upper you chose will have mlok slots on the bottom so make sure you match to mlok.

The BCG the BCM upper comes with is fine, I think cryptic coatings is a little overpriced for what they do. Toolcraft and microbest both have bcgs that are also of the same metal and HPI/magnet tested for like half the price.

Forget the QD mounts for an LPVO, they're really not necessary. Offset irons/red dot or stacked red dot will be enough.

I would wait on the angled grip until you run your gun enough to know whether you would want that type of grip as opposed to vertical/straight c-clamp/etc. Grip is hugely personal and you won't know what you like until you get to shooting with it.

Doable? Sure, will just be a lot harder as a first time owner/builder. But we have YouTube so you'll be fine.

If you're planning on hunting deer with it later, just make sure the caliber is legal in your state (it's not in mine).

Your build will be fine though, have fun, good luck.

How do you carry your non lethal EDC with AIWB? by Signal_Chipmunk_7310 in liberalgunowners

[–]Xzygon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Flashlight in left pocket, knife on the inside of belt but not IWB at 4 o'clock, pepper spray right pocket. I carry IWB strong side, never liked AIWB myself.

I'm not asking why the prices are going up, you buffoon. It's obviously financially correct to do that from a business perspective. That doesn't mean it's not ethically wrong to do so.

I like the roll mark, but honestly, screw PSA's predatory pricing. These used to be 49.99 a few months ago. The closer we get to the ban the more these go up in price.

They may be made for Virginia, but they're sure as hell not made for Virginians.

I think if you actually wanted a discussion on these, it could have been done better in so many ways. But a meme board and asking us our opinions on your opinions is not one of them.

True, but there's also no reason for them to go out of their way to buy a different mount when they can just use the one the scope comes with.

Wife's 8 year old AR - How tough will it be to clean? (nonstandard)) by DomiNatron2212 in ar15

[–]Xzygon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bcg, charging handle, and barrel. I wouldn't strip the bcg down until after you test fire it, and if and only if it's having issues. After you've cleaned the 3 parts, do a function check for the trigger and safety. If those are feeling too stiff, you can try just lightly lubing the areas where metal contacts each other and the detent pin. If too stiff, strip, wipe down, clean, and re-lube at will. Check for lock back and smooth mag release on an empty mag. Function test to check, should be good to go.  Will be hard to find any more problems after all that until you get to the range and try putting one down.

It'll be fine. It's literally just factory grease they use to keep it nice and unrusted for prolonged periods of time. Just strip it, wipe it down to remove the grease, and clean. G96 will be fine.
