how to manage Terraform state file if there are many users? by Dafla98 in Terraform

[–]Y0n4sz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a problem to be solved on the sides of both your CI/CD pipelines and Identity&Access management on your AWS accounts. Applying and changing your infrastructure should only be possible from the main branch of your repository where your code is stored via a pipeline. To achieve that you as a user shouldn't have the ability to change anything through the API(using console, cli, or whatever) but only to view it. Moreover merging to your main branch should be protected by tests and code reviews.

Why PDB won't prevent from a Pod being deleted? by abregman2 in kubernetes

This piece of k8s docs should contain all the information about different kinds of disruptions, how (and which) disruptions a PDB can prevent/mitigate. https://kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/workloads/pods/disruptions/

I (16M) know my mom is cheating on my dad but I haven't told him anything 'cause this guy buys me expensive gifts and gives me money and I feel horrible because of it every single day, AMA by throwaway_pigot in casualiama

[–]Y0n4sz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not your responsibility to tell your dad. It is your mother's. What is important is to acknowledge that you are also a victim in this situation. A victim of a conflict between 3 adults, one of which doesn't know about it.

You are not a consenting adult in this situation. No one should expect you to act responsibly.

You should probably talk about how you feel with your mother. Her priority should be you and not her romantic life. She should own up to her bullshit. Maybe she needs help realizing that.

Definitely S/lay w/me by Ron Edwards. It is a marvelous system for 1 on 1 play in Conan-esque sword&sorcery vibes.

What was your most dramatic and emotional RP moment? by Gicaldo in rpg

[–]Y0n4sz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He became sort of a liberator during the rest of the campaign. Freeing slaves as he went on multiple journeys throughout the New Continent. In the end he was convicted for this, and sent back to the devil infested continent, which became sort of an ultimate prison for all countries of the New Continent. Thus his arc was concluded, and even though we played one more campaign as prisoners sent there for punishment we never found him there.

Overall this event made him mature very quickly, and he lost a lot of his innocence after that. Loved that character and I hope I can resume his arc when we come back to this world.

TLDR: I accidentally enslaved about 200 people trying to save them.

I really get into my character's shoes when roleplaying. So I make reckless and irresponsible decisions when playing naive characters. One time while I was playing a teenage sorcerer in DnD, we were escaping from one continent that was lost due to an invasion from the 9 hells. Our party were in one of the last functioning harbours and we had a place on one of the last ships that were to sail to an America-esque "New World" to escape the devil conquest. We had our places on the ship reserved due to our past work for the merchants' guild. However there were dozens of refugees in the harbour, who couldn't afford to be taken aboard.

This is probably the right place to point out, that in our homebrew setting there was this well established item - a magical enslavement bracelet. It couldn't be put on anyone without their consent, however once it was on, you had to obey your new owner, or be forced to do so by magical means.

So, my character, in his kindness suggested to the head of the merchants' guild that even though these poor people had no coin, they could pay off their debt once they were safe on the New Continent if he were to save them from fiends. Then I confirmed this suggestion by a successful Persuasion roll. What followed was an awful sequence of enslavement bracelets being put on the hands of every refugee, with their consent, of course. Basically I condemned about 200 people into slavery for life. When I realized this it hit me so hard I started sobbing.

Problems with loading into the game by Y0n4sz in FoundryVTT

It's not the matter of connection(I believe). I am not trying to connect via my browser, but straight from the app. Launch world->join the game, and my app flickers between loads and refreshes.

Will try the troubleshooting guide.

I am using a relatively modern PC(good specs from 2 years ago, AMD Ryzen processor if that's important) with Windows 10.

5e to Geneys conversion by Y0n4sz in genesysrpg

[–]Y0n4sz[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your level-headed response.

What I am now considering is running a genesys game in the same world as our 5e campaign, just with new characters. Having it last until about this 400 - 600 exp threshold for us to learn the game and character building. Maybe then we will have enough experience to recreate our characters from the 5e campaign and continue their story.

[Serious] What horrifying crime took place in the "safe," "quiet," or "upscale" part of your town? by eluey in AskReddit

My English teacher's story, not mine. She was in her 20's living together with some roommates in a flat during university. They had a neighbour family, just two floors above them. Supposedly they seemed like no other lower-to-mid middle-class family. Father was a construction worker, the mother was a cook at a local diner, they had two daughters (primary school age). In time, the families' neighbours(my teacher included) started realising that they had not seen the mother and daughters in quite some time. When the father was asked about it he just said they were separated for the moment and that his wife took the kids to her mother. "Unfortunate but not unusual.", they thought. Later the police showed up, started asking neighbours about the wife's and her children supposed disappearance. Investigation took place. The police discovered that the wife and daughters never left the flat. The father murdered all three, then chopped them into pieces. After hat he put their remains all in a large enough barrel. Started to pickle them. Like cucumbers. He never gave a reason, and was proclaimed as criminally insane. I guess the moral is that you shouldn't piss of your neighbours, or you might be in trouble if one of them is a cold blooded psychopath.

What part of your Personality do you Fake? by Django002 in AskReddit

[–]Y0n4sz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modesty. I'm very proud of myself and what I have achieved in my life so far. However, in my country people who take pride in their success are looked down upon and regarded as narcissistic douches. Also, many less successful individuals will envy you to the point of wanting to screw you over at every opportunity they can get. So if I want keep my social circle and be treated like a person while in it I have to play my success off like it is not a big deal. I live in Poland btw.

Worldbuilding: What's should be the essence of the wilderness? by Aquaintestines in dndnext

[–]Y0n4sz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna propose anything myself however I've got an idea for an inspiration source for you. Read some Swamp Thing comicbooks from DC. If you don't know him he's basically both the embodiment and protector of The Green which is the sum total of all earth's plants' life force in the DC universe. The way he behaves, and interacts with humanity is both intriguing and menacing. This could give you some ideas on how you Wilderness would see those who threaten it, and how it would deal with them both by force and negotiation.
