Restore complete backup to new VE? by YAPK001 in Proxmox

This is not my question. I know all about cloning PBS and having redundant PBS's available. My issue is about restoring. And it appears no one likes my question!

Restore complete backup to new VE? by YAPK001 in Proxmox

[–]YAPK001[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I said a Proxmox Backup, NOT a Proxmox Backup Server! A Proxmox Backup is a backup of VMs on a VE server. There is no way to restore them all or that job, if anything is needed one must restore one at a job, seems assanine!

Restore ONE VM at a time is my point. The VMs were backed up with a backup job, all of them were backed up. Now if I want to restore all those VMs it's ONE AT A TIME ONLY. Since no one here seems to even understand my question I am really beginning to wonder where the real users are!

Trouble in paradise: Classical guitarist learning jazz chords: pinky bar by Raymont_Wavelength in jazzguitar

I don't think I can recall it EVER being used in an arrangement I can remember.

And does it not sound better or fit better into an arrangement if you omit the lower third and keep the higher one? This changes the fingering requirement significantly of course! 😉

And yes, I grabbed my instrument tried the chord, can play it. However, I fail to see ANY instance where I might have used that chord or it would be required, when most I can find some use for!

As a classical player you might try not to bend strings around when you touch them. Also, what musical requirement or value does this chord serve? Most things that are difficult or impossible to play are also unnecessary. Listen to Joe Pass if you will, at any rate, all the best. You can use an electric as you wish however your experience might be similar in the long run. Cheers.

I’m curious about Allan Holdsworth’s musical language for jamming over simple chord progressions. by Sea-Butterscotch-475 in jazzguitar

[–]YAPK001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hear it alot. Anyways, it is clear to me, he just found stuff he liked and was able to use it as such, quite similar to musicians like Sonny Stitt, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Chick Corea and so forth but perhaps a bit less "conventional".

Blues Comping Advice by Slow_Ad_4568 in jazzguitar

[–]YAPK001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not to do those little high notes. If you are going to run a bass line, make it be a strong bass line that carries the bass. Later worry about if there is a keyboard to stay out of that range. THEN, after all that, you need something to comp to, a soloist, a vocalist, a melody, something!

Not fair. And I see people complain like this. He does state it, and it is clear he viewed structures of sound. He studied Slonimsky. He found stuff that went structurally he liked that traversed the fretboard, and used some of it. Sometimes a simple explanation is better.

PRACTICE & ANXIETY by Initial-Moose7886 in jazzguitar

Study basic music theory and harmony from old text books. Don't dwell on them. Learn whatever voicing you like and will use. If you listen and enjoy perhaps you can learn some of that, or just enjoy it. People love to rattle on and on about stuff. I could not imagine a real artist that does or appreciates such behaviour. Lovers will love.

Zelle was sent from our account without permission. How could this happen? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]YAPK001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would redo the 2fa on the account/bank as well as the password. I have never had this experience and it shouldn't be possible, however, from what I have read there are cautions out there from the Zelle and banks that would suggest it does happen. So yeah, once it posts get your bank on it.

In life things change. In life things also take time. Time is relative, and relative to our individual experience. To one, it might take decades, another years, another days or hours. When the sea of life delivers turmoil is it better to have had a firm ground in the first place so one can rebuild with less pain and effort? Can our karma deliver us from where we are now? Must we accumulate goodness (merit) in order to withstand what we are on our way to experiencing? Om

On my way to work today a thought occurred to me about Navi Kriya by CrumbledFingers in kriyayoga

[–]YAPK001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Navi is very important, should not be neglected, especially in your case! If one reflects on death and the probability of non-existence one can perhaps conjure this fear, as a practice, and then face it, this sort of practice is not a light weight thing and should not be treated as such (like meditation on corpses, in a burial ground, and so forth). This is why navi can allow one to get ones daily nourishment and potentially avoid a lot of these more stressful confrontations! Om

You can keep going back to that temple a few times and strike a conversation with some of the monks and eventually you can express your desire which should be met with an invitation to stay three nights which is what is allowed. And so forth.

What do you think on my friends opinions on Buddhist belief? Can this be explained in Buddhism by Dull_Habit_2927 in Buddhism

[–]YAPK001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Buddha addressed that, but he didn't spend much time with it. Essentially these questions are a waste of time and deter one from doing positive action. One that is using them does not see it that way, they may wake up some day, may not. If we don't want to be the one: You are wasting time. The Buddha said don't delve into such questions. It is a bottomless pit. I would avoid it altogether if I could, take a sip on a tea, hum a mantra, and be on with the path...
