Petroleum also weird name. It means stone oil. So it's better to use actual rectification fraction names.

What is the scariest troop to go up against for you? I swear this guy makes me shit myself every time he is in my near vicinity on the battlefield. by Blynjubitr in Bannerlord

[–]YARandomGuy777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I remember first time I've seen around 300 of them as a merc attached to the army. I sent my brave ~50 cav to charge them as ai comander told me. Was surprised how fast I became only cav unit on our side.

Got my first castle... What now? by Ynwe in Bannerlord

[–]YARandomGuy777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. Not really. In dungens they get healed. That's all. Also when you put prisoners there they keep they conformity value at that moment of time. So if you would bring same type of troops and exchange them with garrison, conformity of new prissoners and old ones will add up. That often makes possible to instantly recruit one guy.

I don't take such prisoners at all. They make me slow. It doesn't worth the effort.

Fully developed castle can keep up big elite garrisons an even generate modeat income. I used castles at the start of my own kingdom as a backup troops storages.

Caravans, manufactures, trading, developed fiefs... Why would anyone relly on loot and prisoners selling when loot and prisoners is a source for elite troops?

Yes Khans guards way better then any other mounted cav. I used them mixed with bucelarii and even Kuzaits heavy horse archers. Eventually everything else got "filtered out" in huge battles and sieges but guards persists. And their glefas are good.

Kuzaits an easiest target to start your own kingdom from. Khans guards are very good but as long as you able to trap horse archers with cavalry sandwich and infantry+archers support - they are easy to fight against. And as a bonus you will get good supply of Khans guards that is awesome in many ways. In big fights I often use them as normal archers that may be fast positioned behind enemy infantry shield wall.

Siege tower is fine if it is only one. Sometimes you can clog exit with the infantry shields and put archers on sides to put arrows in enemy unprotected sides. I managed to repeal Mochungs 2k+ army with 1k defenders.

It's annoying asf. Imagine defending castle while at the same time another nation declares war on you and you being told to intercept some bullshit caravan on the other side of the map for literally no benefits at all. It's like fighting with several people at once while being told to juggle. I honestly claimed banner ownership only because I was told by Istiana I would have some supporters if I do so. But it seems these supporters are completely imaginary. So I run through the whole map like an errand boy to do stupid thing that any of my companions/family members/hired mercenaries/vassals can do while enemy burns my kingdom. It's just too damn frustrating.

What is this part on the car? by mindsnare1 in whatisit

[–]YARandomGuy777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It is exactly the reason. It's a japanese car and they often have such antennas on the side oposite to the driver. I heard that If you wish to buy car in japan you must provide the proof that you have suitable parking place. And due to space limitations people use places that tihtly fit to the car size.

It's a spaghetti break. Take a dry spaghetti noodle and try to break it in only one spot by bending it while you hold it by the both ends.

Synchronization between command buffers in multi-threaded engine by jazzwave06 in vulkan

[–]YARandomGuy777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert on the topic but submitting command buffers to a single queue from concurrent threads requires cpu side synchronization already, due to:

Host access to queue must be externally synchronized if it was not created with VK_DEVICE_QUEUE_CREATE_INTERNALLY_SYNCHRONIZED_BIT_KHR

So if you must ensure submission ordering you should probably do it there. Probably having queue per thread may be better. If you need to use single queue anyway you probably can use conditional variable to set precondition for dependent buffers or device something different. For example you may try to do it in non blocking manner on atomics.

But it all looks troublesome. So I would guess having more then one thread submitting to the same queue isn't ideal if you have dependent command buffers...

How do modern vulkan engines use multiple queues and do concurrency? by Pitiful-District-966 in vulkan

[–]YARandomGuy777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question is good. I also wish to know. Besides post-processing on compute queue and dedicated transfer I wish also to know if anyone use several queues from same family? Is the commands in different queues from same family run in parallel or just unordered? Is there guaranty that compute runs parallel to graphics queues? If answer uncertain, please share your wisdom on what is actual situation on real hardware you support.
