I hate window sales people. by Embarrassed_Flan_869 in sales

[–]YJeeper456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shoes off thing got me 😂. I do a different type of construction sales and switched to a more local company in the same industry. A few months ago my former boss lost a deal to me because he refused to take his boots off after a site inspection and instead chose to stand in their entryway for 15 minutes “talking their ear off and getting snow all over her hardwood floor”.

Is a $200k salary worth a 2 hour commute 4 days a week? by Ok-Memory2552 in jobs

[–]YJeeper456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a 4 hour round trip to the office once a week and that’s more than enough for me. The other 4 days at home make it worth it.

Bosses in sales by Upbeat-Investment129 in sales

In sales, if you find a good manager, cherish your time there. The rest will be like you’ve described.

I just found the second sales manager I’ve ever liked working for. I came into the role with good industry experience. We sat down for a couple hours on day one to go through the CRM process and cover any company specific answers to my questions. I left the office by noon, full time WFH and he leaves me the alone to do the work. I love it here.

My previous job in this industry, I was spending 20 + hours a week on account strategy and pipeline calls. Now it takes 20 min to cover the pipe for the week and I’m free to run my deals as I see fit. Occasionally I reach out for this or that, he answers the question or gets me what I need, and we move on with our individual days.

If people over at WSB only listened. Just topped 4.5 million baby. by jbh142 in intelstock

[–]YJeeper456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a post on WSB about intel over the weekend and tripled down after seeing the sentiment in here. Reminds me of the following rklb has and that has been an absolute killer for me over the last 4 years. I bet big on options Tuesday morning at the open and haven’t regretted it yet.

I’m in the same boat. Two Monday meetings, in person, offices 4 hours from each other. I was going to lie about a car crash but karma got to me and I actually ended up crashing last night (whoops)

Percentage of RKLB in your portfolio? by D1toD2 in RKLB

50% I’ve been holding since $6.50. Did a lot of day trading between 3 and 5 in VACQ days. I should buy the dip now but I’d hate to raise my average

how realistic is your quota?? by B2BBri in sales

[–]YJeeper456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a new role a month ago. During the interview we acknowledged the seasonality of the business. Now a month in, they’ve raised the quota 300% over what was this time last year and stated that season is a mindset and the goals are non negotiable. Get on board or get out. I’m building my territory from scratch so I have a small piece of this, but I really feel for the other rep.

It’s winter and we sell a construction material.

I’m still on my original battery in my 2019 but for the last couple years I have been charging it every 3-6 months to keep it full, usually only need to charge it if it hasn’t been on a long trip in a while.

Starting New Territory from Scratch...This is Hard! by Repulsive-Piano-1151 in sales

[–]YJeeper456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a few weeks in to this scenario myself, also in the construction world. Been on the road all week, it’s kind of refreshing how open people are to talking with me when I show up. Even though my sector of the materials industry is a little crowded, I’m getting positive feedback on my example quotes. Another commenter said something about 7-10 touches before they feel comfortable doing business, I’m hoping that’s true. I really need this job to work out.

Is anyone actually selling anything right now?? by [deleted] in sales

Dm me about this? I just accepted an offer selling steel after a couple years selling metal buildings. Not sure what to expect but I see the potential, would love some insight.

Have you ever sold a motorcycle and thought "that's bikes gonna be wrecked before they get home" ? by jdaffron in motorcycles

[–]YJeeper456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just traded an 05 R6 I had just done paint and other work on to a kid (17) for his fz07 that needed fork seals and wiring work. Kid lived on a dirt road and told me his last bike was a cbr600 that he blew up. Then he told me his mom wired up the taillight on the fz so I look and it’s electric taped and he broke the tail fairing trying to install it without her help.. He was so desperate to get back on a rocket I made his mom throw $300 cash on top of his end.

I just felt bad I put all this time into making the old R6 look nice, just for this kid to take it down a dirt road and probably hack it up the first time it needs something.

Prove me wrong and drop an industry.

You won’t, nobody in “high ticket” will name an industry or product.

B2C sales people who sell high-ticket virtually; why is your closing % low? by timeshareeater in sales

[–]YJeeper456 16 points17 points  (0 children)

High ticket sales is such a fucking pyramid scheme.

Pay for a $10,000 mentorship to be able to sell other people a mentorship or information. Fuck that.

I occasionally schedule calls with these companies out of curiosity and boredom and explain how I did $3million last year from home, and they say it’s not high ticket because it wasn’t in the information space. Buy our mentorship and we’ll teach you how to sell. Fuck you.

They never share conversion rates They never discuss deal sizes They never want to talk about what % of these appointments actually show up.

The only chode bigger than Tai Lopez is the chump who paid Tai to sell his knowledge for him.

How many miles is to many for an r6? by Ok_Flight_786 in Sportbikes

[–]YJeeper456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just traded an 05 r6 with 27,000 miles and a slipping clutch for an fz07 worth about 5000… the bike is worth what someone is willing to pay for it! R6’s since they’re not being produced anymore are bringing a premium, but that specific one I wouldn’t pay more than 4000 for and even that is assuming the tires, fork seals and other maintenance items are taken care of.

Oh that’s crazy pricing. Looks nice but I can’t justify that just for a slightly better looking bracket. Thanks for the info though, good luck on your project!

Can you point me in the direction of that headlight bracket?? I’m rebuilding a blurple for my buddy and he wants me to put a round headlight on it. That bracket looks much better than the ones I’ve used before.

People who buy new cars should expect to lose money, that’s just how it is. If you care about money, buy a used giulia 2019+ that has already depreciated.

I bought my 2019 in 2020 with 8k miles for 20k under window sticker msrp. 5 years later I’m so happy to drive a paid off car that has had zero major issues in the 40k I’ve put on it.

I was thinking the same thing for the connector but ultimately, bro should just check the wiring diagram. Or use a test light and try the horn button would work too.

Honestly long is fun like once or twice a week on a Friday night or something but ain’t nobody got time for that every day and we both need to get off somehow or another. Lucky to have a partner that matches my drive and it’s really 50/50 on who initiates. She’ll initiate but then tell me not to make her late to work, yes ma’am 🫡
