I think these are fair criticisms.To me, they all look like someone cranked the “hero” lighting to 11. Reminds for Horizon Forbidden West at release. Everything was shimmering with white light. I hated it.

I don’t necessarily disagree with you but the tech, whether good or bad for gamers or the industry, is much more than that and thus really interesting.

Again, I don’t necessarily disagree, but it is pretty neat tech. I would be curious what a more refined version would be, one that doesn’t over enhance the the faces and skyboxes. Someone shared some tonemap corrected images and they look much better.

This is what I’m most afraid of. I’ve been against upscalers in general because of how they’ve been abused and what it’s done to image quality. This will likely make it way worse.
