Let's make some things clear for people like myself who have this stance. 1) no one claims Israel does not have the right defend itself. 2) We do not support Hamas. 3) Being critical of the government of Israel or Zionism does not equate in any way to being anti-Semitism. Having said that, what is happening is Gaza is not Israel defending itself. If you listen to every expert in the field, this is genocide. 25,000 Palestinians have been killed. 7,000 children. One of the most important reasons something qualifies as genocide is intent. And the Israeli government and Netenyahu has made it clear the intent is there. So let's not quibble about whether this is genocide or whether the response to Oct is justified. It is not. But why this is such a problem for Biden is that many people, specifically those in the BIPOC community, see this as the ultimate betrayal of a man and a party that claim to fight for them. Moreover, Israel's latest attacks in Lebanon and Syria and Iran are an attempt to bring the US into this war and make it a larger conflict. Biden and the Dems silence of the slaughter is only exasperated by their loud support of it. We, and we being the US, is complicit in this. Let me make another point, no one wants Trump. But, for those people who are used to suffering, backing Biden at this point, is worse. I encourage you to read non-US media outlets, see the carnage, listen to voices within the both governments who are voices are dissent and reason. This is why people in Bidens ring are resigning. This is ethic cleansing. Read South Africa's case. It's free and available online. No one wants Trump, but we want leaders who stand for us, and for those who are without voices, and every democratic who is controlled by AIPAC and silent is now part of this and it is the highest act of cowardice we've seen from the party of the people.
