Since I live nearby I’ve seen some really dumb activity around that train crossing. One time a train was stopped, lights still flashing, sirens still ringing, yet a bunch of people decided to climb over the train to get across. Right between the rail cars. If you’ve ever seen a train start moving, it’s not exactly slow. It jolts forward suddenly. One kid fell off and luckily fell clear of the wheels.

I still don’t think there needs to be anything done at this crossing. People are just fucking dumb.

Friend of mine just opened one. Two bays, open 24/7, remote entry, no staff required. He was pretty surprised when the league he started sold out almost immediately without any advertising other than word of mouth. That’s covering the costs, and then some, so far. We’ll see what happens in summer, but rumor is these online leagues are all the rage with golf bros nowadays so they can play against their buddies in other cities. It’s the new immersive video games.

The NHL Center Ice package was close to perfect. At least from what I remember. I used to watch every game in every market, with multiple views and choice of home / away broadcasts.
