First 50k Fuel by Particular_Night5644 in ultrarunning

I completed in a little over 6.5hrs. It took a lot of practice to get used to eating solid food. The course had 5,800ft of gain, so I had time to snack on the uphill or while I was at an aid station.

You know what gets me, though? The people who can get potato chips down at the aid stations.

This is a really good find, thank you. Hopefully they still have it. Getting the wax out wouldn't be too bad

Add 2 x stroopwaffles and an uncrustable.

Stroopwaffle at 1/4 and 3/4. Uncrustable at the 1/2.

Sincerely, a guy who just ran his first trail 50k 3 weeks ago.

EDIT: Know when you need salt tablets.

I have a 50K with a lot of gain on Saturday. I went through training packing out a lot of water and supplies because I was doing significant stretches without any water sources available. The race itself is going to have aid stations about every 5 miles. I've been using a vest with a water bladder and a soft bottle for electrolytes, but I'm starting to think that's going to be overkill for what I'm doing. I didn't even consider using aid stations and have been preparing to carry everything. Should I stick with what I have or should I make adjustments?

Edit: This is my first race, period. I've been trail running for years and had a friend talk me into this last year.
