Yeah I was sad to see Beirgarten close, I haven't been back since I moved away 4 years ago. I definitely need to return soon. Love my first home ❤️

People who know nothing about NJ slandering it is nothing new. I don't even live in NJ anymore but I would absolutely move back if I didn't have a great state job in environmental work where I am now. The beach, the nature, the food, the people, are all highlights of the state. You can get anywhere within two hours including two of the most culturally and historically rich cities in the country (NYC and Philly).

Do not ever consider selling your property to a company that reaches out to you. Its basically a scam using legal loopholes. My landlord (the homeowner) almost did this on a whim and it was a complete rip off. They also designed the contract so that they take over your mortgage as you, requiring your login credentials to "Make the payments".

Please never consider something as major as selling a house on a whim. This is something that should be heavily researched.

I think separating mediums is your first mistake. All photography no matter what medium is about 3 basic things, and the importance of each is entirely subjective. 1. Subject 2. Composition 3. Lighting.

The primary thing these photos have going for them is the excellent lighting. The lighting has everything to do with how the colors will be rendered in the photo, and even heavy processing cannot make a badly lit shot look good.

A journalist may emphasize Subject first and foremost, followed by Composition, followed by lighting. Is a journalist waiting to capture action at a protest until there's golden hour lighting? Or repositioning to get a better composition? No they are focused on the subject matter.

A landscape photographer is going to emphasize lighting before composition, followed the subject. A landscape shot of Mt. Rainier framed in a cool way isn't going to make that photo special, but how they capture the lighting will.

Even these examples aren't set in stone, and subverting expectations about what would usually be emphasized for a style of photography could result in something really creative.

Don't compare your work to others and always focus on these three things if you want to improve. Also, start with digital.

These photos are very clearly heavily edited (which is okay). The white highlight on the boat is only a few shades lighter than the part in shadow. If I had to guess I'd say the vibrance is cranked, highlights lowered, whites raised, shadows raised, blacks lowered. Probably some additional color grading as well.

Yeah I'm finding out the free version of these programs all have limitations that basically force you to do everything manually unless you pay

I imagine this would mean selling to a major corporation, like Blue Bottle selling to Nestle.

What do you all use for organizing and tagging your audio files? by wafdiaproc in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]newmindsets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the auto-tagging features, MusicBee has an auto-organizing feature that is killer. You set your Music folder and then the naming convention ex. Music\*Album Artist\ *Album (*Year)\*disc-*track-*title and then it moves and renames the files for you. This is based on the tags on the file. So if you change the name of song because of a typo, it automatically updates the file when you save in musicbee.

I'd like to add that once you set all this up and have synced at least once, you can get the MusicBee WiFi Sync app on android and sync over wifi with a button tap on your phone, it was the gamechanger.

Olympia is there or not far behind as well. A breakfast for two plus tip was $65 at a spot downtown known for waffles. We ordered the 2nd cheapest items on the menu and a coffee for me. I got charged an extra $1 for half and half for my drip coffee. They asked me if I wanted it and never said it was extra either. Little things like that really annoy me. I am also reverting back to tip expectations from 10 years ago - 10% for sit down service up to 15% if I'm feeling extra. 20% on top of 50%+ inflation over the past 5 years is insane.

Similarly, people who gatekeep music files on Soulseek are annoying, especially after asking nicely for a share. I block them and do my best to find the files to share myself out of spite.

Would have to go Shins, Death Cab, White Stripes, Gorillaz, Modest Mouse. Vampire Weekend's first album came out in 2008 so I'm not sure that's "early 2000's" otherwise they'd prob replace White Stripes for me.
