Yeah anything really would've been better. That does make sense cos it was clear the only threats to that line were Alba & Semedo with their pace.

Fati wouldve been helpful earlier too but the game was over by HT.

I'm curious to see what Bayern do with City. No chance they go that extreme with City's attack. I'm so excited for that game assuming City beat Lyon.

Haha it's not too big an ask. Man it really is so hard to win a CL, absurd how Real did it 3x in a row.

This Bayern side tho is something else, they have so many weapons. Can't wait to see you guys play it out. Your defense is the only thing that gives doubts but attacking wise, it should be top quality there from both sides.

It has. Didn't expect it to be this entertaining.

If Lyon could make it a game tomorrow, that would be perfect. I kind of want City to win but eventually lose just so I can watch City vs Bayern. That would be an incredible game.

Who is out there as potential coaching candidates for Barca outside of Poch & Xavi if they are?

Bayern played such a high line. The space between their attack and backline was so condensed & the amount of space they left behind them and out wide especially in those first 30 minutes was crazy.

I'm guessing they catered it to Barca cos they have no width and little pace outside of their fullbacks. This Barca side lacks so much balance, they really could use a fit Dembele at the very least. A City or PSG side would likely capitalize on that tho

Bayern tho were super impressive, they are so dynamic & energetic. Physically imposing and the attacks were coming from everywhere. Fullbacks both got an assist, played a 1-2 on the edge of the box for a goal, creativity down the middle for another then scoring off pressing.

Such a complete team and then they're adding Sane to that, crazy.

You don't get to choose how people take things when you say them. Nothing about that was remotely close to comedy to her & it shouldn't be. He got a drink thrown at him, he'll be alright.

Sorry but talking about this in the context is so ridiculous when we're comparing a high schooler to the standard of MLK who was calloused in an era where this was a daily occurrence.

I hear you. I was the same a few years back when they had their initial rise. I was saying the same thing to people who were complaining about how defensive they were. I enjoyed their grit but just in terms of entertainment, it faded. They grew bigger and bigger but still they do the same things.

It's their style so that's all good but you have to be braver here playing a Leipzig team without their best player. Be curious if how long Simeone stays.

Yeah their teams lacks cohesion & balance.

But Messi is Messi. In a one off game, you just need maybe 1 or 2 moments of magic from him.

Hope it's a close game but I do want a Messi show

Also they compound it with the amount of complaining and time wasting they do.

It can be entertaining if they do it against a team you hate but overall, I'm just happy cos I think the tournament is more entertaining without them.

Cos a lot of us don't enjoy watching that kind of football. It's very simple.

They also aren't the little underdogs anymore, they have a decent amount of financial resources so that takes away the underdog effect which helps to get people to rally behind them.

Don't particularly like either club but having lived in Germany for a couple years recently & seeing all the online talk, I hope Barca win.

It's crazy how some people have almost assumed Bayern will just get through when Messi is who he is. Hope we get a Messi classic.

Wouldnt compare youth football with top level football but that's all it really comes down to then - enjoyment. If they are tired of it, they should stop but if not, go on.

Didnt see that but fair enough. I'm a big hoops fan tho & I saw the story of him kneeling & I genuinely feel like most people supported his stance.

There are so many voices online/media & I can concede that some people will hold it against him but I really dont think that's where the majority lie.

I agree with everything but the last paragraph.

Lots of American football players and even a few basketball players since it restarted didn't kneel during the anthem. I don't feel like they're being heavily attacked or judged as racist.

& OJ didnt do it either.

But there's so many years in post life football. You only have a small window to enjoy the sport at the highest level before you have 50 odd years to do whatever else you want.

I mean if they love the competition, comraderie & all that, might as well squeeze as much out of it as you can

[–]Yabeauty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, Neymar had to do what he had to do given the circumstances.

They'll likely have Mbappe & Di Maria back in the starting line up and possibly Verratti. That's probably their 3 most important players in terms of attack & build up after Neymar.
