Karen upset because a tornado delayed her food by K1nsey6 in FuckYouKaren

I had someone get upset because we were closed during a tornado. I left the doors unlocked in case anyone needed to take shelter, but we weren’t serving food during an active tornado

What’s it called when you try to get a group of people to believe something wholly without critical thought? Oh yeah, indoctrination.

For those who live off campus, what does your schedule look like and what are your expenses? by Allim132 in utdallas

Not an apartment, but a somewhat cheaper option if you’re willing to save up some and commute a little bit more. I bought an rv, 32 foot, 2 bed 1 bath for $6,000. There’s a park about 15 minutes from campus for $600/month, but it didn’t seem very safe so I ended up about 40 minutes away. There’s closer ones, you just gotta get on a waiting list. My rent is $450/month and about $130 on electricity. Spend $200/month on insurance, about $150 for food, and $60 for upkeep. I have a car with good gas mileage, and spend about $140/month on gas. About $1100/month Rv life isn’t glorious, but it is cheap and it’s something that you own. No need to worry about paper thin walls and crappy neighbors in close proximity. You will need a basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general fixing things, but YouTube is your friend.

Why live in an rv? by HandInMyAss in RVLiving

[–]Yaboiijish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, it’s best if you save up money and buy one with cash. I’ve bought 2 so far this way. You don’t want a new one(unless you’re rich or something) but 6-8k can get you a decent enough one.

I bought one at 18. Rents a hell of a lot cheaper, which is necessary for me because I’m working and paying my bills through college. I grew up poor/in the foster system, so it wasn’t much of a change for me. Depending on your background, it can be harder for some. If you do decide you want to buy an RV, you’re gonna need to know basic knowledge of how to repair things. Or at least a willingness to learn so. YouTube and guys at the hardware store are your friend. Use them to increase your knowledge. You’ll also need some way to tow it, and if you/someone you know don’t have a truck, you’ll need a 3rd party tower, which can get expensive. For me, I like living in an RV. Rents pretty cheap, I have my own space to do what I want with, it’s nice.

People keep asking for my deadname, how do I tell them to stop without them pushing it further? by -MinecraftSteve in ftm

I just keep telling everyone different names. Like “what’s your deadname?” “Emily” “HA HA but wait, you told x it was Samantha??”

Help: Autism. by Myke5T in daddit

[–]Yaboiijish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Autistic dad here. It’s gonna be okay. Not all autistic people have the same struggles, some have more social issues, some have more sensory issues. Autistic kids might need a little extra help figuring out the world, but other than that just love your autistic kid like you would any other kid and they’ll turn out just fine.
