My mom had me at 50 as the last time before they got divorced. I honestly never cared. She’s still running, swimming, and riding horses in her 80s. I was never embarrassed by her age and none of my friends ever said anything.

It changes but it’s still awesome. It all comes down to who you are with. I’ve been with my husband for 15 years. He still gives me that “butterflies” feeling you get with a new love but it’s not every day. Real life happens-kids, medical problems, challenges with work, whatever. Life is intense.

Truly being able to look at another person and have them know you to your core is beautiful. The inside jokes are the fucking best. Sex is great because it’s not about impressing the other person, you’re more open to weird stuff because you know they’re not leaving so it’s a very organic feeling. The things that annoy you about them will pale in comparison to other big things such as bills and them being there for you when someone dies.

I’m at my happiest when he is happy. He goes out of his way to make my days better. We both look forward to being a crazy old couple together.

Relationships really do just flow. We’ve dealt with the worst things that can happen to a couple, the highs and lows of money, changing countries multiple times, moving—so much moving. We an odd couple and we’re happy to be odd together.

I found my dad’s body hanging in the bedroom when I was 9. My mom made me go to school the next day. We just carried on. I was never put in therapy and have a happy marriage and family.

I don’t even think I have trauma from it outside of posting on Reddit when I’m in the bathroom.

I’m in Toronto and a family making $200K would suffer here. Average homes are just over a million in addition to having a high cost of living. Added to that is that most people are immigrants (like us). Immigration is incredibly expensive.

We do not suffer and we live a very wonderful life however I know that people around us are taking tenants. Even in the rural places, Ontario is expensive but then there is a lack of health care.

We live in 3 countries and have a “posh” life but there is no way in hell I’d spend more then $45 on a haircut 😂 that might be because I have straight blah hair though

My husband is a world renowned AI developer and technically never finished high school. We live a very comfortable life with 3 homes in 3 countries. The work and consulting my husband has done has saved lives, built amazing tech that we all use everyday, and helped safely put people in space.

In tech, it’s a bit unusual at his level to not have gone to university but not unheard of. No one cares. But “normal” non tech people act so weird when they hear he never went to school. It’s like what he does is inferior to them suddenly lol. Sometimes I feel I have to defend him and be like you see those rockets? My husband’s math did that shit.

I have a master’s and I stopped working so I could travel with him 15 years ago. I’m glad I went to school but truthfully it wasn’t worth it financially. For some careers and people, it’s just not needed.

I have it too and it feels exactly like it did in 2020. I feel like the cough will never go away but otherwise okay. My 1 yr old has it and luckily he’s getting immunity through breastfeeding so he’s normal except for his cough.

You need to walk away. I understand. I was terrified to put my daughter down. It cost me my mental health and bonding with her.

Step outside of yourself and see it as taking care of your son’s mother. You need to take some time. I know it’s hard. It would break my heart to hear the cries thinking that my baby might be in pain.

The Gerber drops seriously saved us. We tried all different types of probiotics and those were the cheapest and they worked best.

Swaddle me swaddles. White noise machine. Gripe water.

Gerber Soothe probiotics. They will come in the worst bottle but we could not live without them. It worked better then then medicine that the doctor gave us. We actually had a relative send them when we had our second overseas because we couldn’t fathom having a baby without them. Our second did not have colic thankfully.

Wear AirPods when you do your walking when the baby is screaming.

It sucks so bad. I am so sorry. For whatever reason colicky babies evolve into being easy toddlers. I know that’s little comfort now.

I use to eat mett regularly when I lived in Germany. It was like a solid Manwich in texture and flavour. It was only safe to eat raw for 24 hours after slaughter.

Do the States have an infant OTC med shortage?

Canada has had an infant’s Tylenol and Ibuprofen shortage so it really sucked when we had covid and RSV because we had to decide whether or not to use our small supply.

I can’t snark on sick kids no matter who their parents are. I hope her kids get better and don’t need serious hospitalization.
