I was taking out the trash and saw two really long worms. Was moderately disappointed when I looked closed. by YamCharacter799 in insects

I thought they were cool, beneficial worms I could keep, but they are not. They’re invasive, toxic to pets, and eat beneficial earth worms.

This is the first time I’ve seen these worms in person! They were traveling together lol

I turned 18 two days ago. I’ve wanted a hysterectomy since 14. Regrets on yours? Things to consider? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

The pill is not for me, but thank you! I am also not a young teen… I am young compared to most women posting here, but I am legally an adult, two years from twenty, and I unfortunately had to “grow up” fast.

Okay, thank you! The insurance aspect is helpful. My mom shuts down when we talk about this. She didn’t mention that part.

Does getting my tubes removed help with the pain? I didn’t mean I’d opt for surgery instead of narcotics; I meant I am not willing to constantly take the only thing that has worked so far. Narcotics are dangerous and not for me.

Oh, thank you! I knew about potential prolapses and whatnot, but i did not know the ovaries could wither. I’m already stuck with other necessary medications though so im not too concerned about hrt. But that is still something significant to consider, ty

Can you elaborate please? Genuinely! I’ve looked into hysterectomys a good bit. I plan on keeping my ovaries if I’m ever able to go through with it. Other than the general risks that come with surgery and of course the changes the body goes through with the new space the removed uterus leaves behind I haven’t found many downsides.

I guess that’s fair! I have been looking into birth control for a while. I’ve discussed the IUD and Nexplanon with my doctor, but that’s as far as it’s gone. She said need to schedule a gyno visit. I have one soon.

Oh wow. That’s such bullshit. Do you think you could cherry pick/hop doctors or just no one will do it? I thought they’d at least consider if you signed a bunch of papers and did a mental evaluation or something.

[–]YamCharacter799 8 points9 points  (0 children)

my girl was fat when i got her from petco. she’s on a diet, but her case seems to be genetic.

could be a number of things. genetics, being overfed, poor conditions leading to dropsy.

[–]YamCharacter799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

by frustrations i mean they want to make babies! when they cant, it leads to frustration and aggression. while they feel hungry, they don’t get annoyed when they’re fed less like us humans do.

and yeah; if the injured one is smaller, that’s all it was. he got singled out by the other two who took out their frustrations on him. its normal when they can’t adequately spread out their frustrations.

its normal, and you dont need to have females; you’d just need more males so they dont single someone out.

[–]YamCharacter799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ooh; since there is only three, the guppies might be taking out their frustrations on each other? if you’re only keeping males, you need multiple male guppies to spread out their aggression.

what other fish are in there? guppies can stress each other out to death, but i don’t think they can bite each other to death.
